Wait up. If that's Raúl...
...hm, it sort of looks like Matt Caplan.

It is Matt Caplan! I was expecting to see Raul cuddling a cute puppy dog!
Eeek! Stefanie, we need to see this picture! No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
no!!! it's Colin Hanlon!!! I love him right now. But he does look a lot like Matt...I know, I know, I feel like a traitor without the cuddly puppy (which shall return, never fear!!) I just need to go with this kick for a while (since he's leaving Rent in a week!!! I'm harassing my friend Robin to get me a ticket. Haha. Such a fangirl!)
Happy Happy Birthday Elphie!!! Sorry I'm late.
I love your avatar kooks! I'm a big Colin fan.
Yay for fun Chitty experiences and for chats with Raul.
"By the time he got to me he was off, but someone sent him a text message and when he read it he started cracking up. :) " - that makes me happy.
Thanks Alix!
I love birthdays. I got some really neat stuff!
aw, I hope your birthday turned out well, Elphie.
Saw Chitty today. g and her friend rushed and got second row, but her friend decided against going, so I took the extra ticket. I've been wanting to see him perform from up that close for a while, and it was definitely worth it. I forget how amazing his eyes are, and his facial expressions are even sweeter up close. I also think I forgot what a good dancer he is. mmm. He was pretty silly, and there was this one point where he stopped "driving" stood up and... well, busted a move, basically. (I can't believe I used that phrase.) But he just started dancing and clapping in the seat. Standing. Marc (who I am SO GLAD is back!!) almost mounted him during the fight. ahem.
Anyway, we were waiting to get in before the show around 12:20, and we saw Raul walk up a few minutes after 12:30. He was smoking and on the phone, of course, and I clammed up and couldn't say anything to him, even when he was off the phone. So g, from behind her umbrella called his name, and I don't think he could see who it was because the umbrella was in the way. Really softly he was like "whaaat?" and said something about being sort of late, about to go inside. Then he turned around and saw me, and stepped back out again. He was like "I'm really sorry, but I'm running late..." from the doorway. He made to go in again, and then sort of backed out again. He looked really sorry, almost as if to say "if you really need something, I'll stay," and sort of went back and forth between inside and outside, like he was trying to decide what to do. I was going to ask if he'd come out after the show (The Normal Heart was in my bag), but I felt weird asking that, so I was like "oh, it's okay, don't worry about it!" and let him go. It was sweet that he seemed willing to stay if I really wanted something, anyway.
g and I think he waved at us from the car. I think he at least gave us a grin, but he was probably waving at the little boy in front of us.
This was probably my last time seeing the show, unless my parents change their minds about NYE. It's been fun!
aw, that's so fun! i think i'm gonna rush next sunday mat...i'm trying to get into the city to see colin's last that night...and it's been so long since i've chitty-ed it up! and i'm in the same boat, em...if i go this'll probably be the last time i'll get to see it...i just can't afford a $100 ticket. boo.
I'm glad you finally got to see it from up close. Sounds like it was a great performance.
So does that mean that he does recognize you? I'm sure there will be more opportunities for TNH. Are you going to Cincinatti?
He never ceases to give me new reasons to love him even more.
I must find a way to get myself to this show.
Oh, by the way, he was all bundled up. And he was wearing his glases. PRECIOUS.
kook, is Colin's last show Sunday night? I have yet to see him in Rent and I feel like I should but I don't know when or how. This probably means choosing between Raul and Colin. :-/
yeah i'm pretty sure it is...that was the last i heard...i'll get confirmation tomorrow when i get my ticket...
omg! how do you choose between Raúl and Colin?? I don't think I could...which is why I'm doing BOTH. haha.
Ohh, I'm jealous. Of everyone. I must go see a show soon.

Ang, you should come to the Chatterbox Thurday to see Michael. I think he's gonna bring his guitar!
I want to go to that. If Adam doesn't do Tony Danza, maybe I will. If he does, I should stay home and do my work on Thursday.

You SHOULD come to the Chatterbox! It's only for an hour! Last night we were talking about what embarrassing footage he is going to bring. I told him it won't be too bad. Seth will only make fun of him a *LITTLE BIT*! I can't wait. He is really excited about it.
Is this his first time going?

I don't mean to interrupt your conversation- I've never posted on this thread before, but I figured this was the place to ask.
What's Raul's next project? I'm not gonna be able to see Chitty before it closes, but I wanna see what all the fuss is about!
k thanks

John Doyle's production of Comapny. It's going to run for a month in Cincinnati, and it's the same actor/musician concept as Sweeney Todd! I CAN'T WAAAAAAAAIT!
And Em, I think this is his first time!
Hopefully it comes to B'way!

The only thing is, there was a Company revival not very long ago at all.

So am I. But my butt is going to Cincinnati for this. John Doyle and Raúl Esparza....Ain't no way I would miss that. It's just a chance I'm not willing to take.
