aww! Can you post those?
Well. I had promised her I'd ask him, and then I totally forgot. This was at the Chatterbox. The people I was with and I had talked to him for a few minutes after - very candid, relaxed, lots of fun - and then we left and were talking outside, while he was doing the photo/autograph thing inside. Then I realized what I had promised to do, and I ran back inside to catch him. Lo and behold, I didn't have to go inside, because I ran into him in the doorway. Literally, smack-dab into the guy, probably missing him by like an inch - my toes probably touched his. Very, very smoothe, let me tell you. So anyway, I realized what I had actually just done, and was like "uh, oh! Raul? Hi. Question. It's my best friend's birthday, and she's at college really far away. Would you mind saying hi to her, really fast? She's a huge fan." or something. Apparently when I had said to her before "oh my gosh, wait, I have a surprise for you - HOLD ON!" she hadn't realized what I was doing, and she hung up! So I gave Raul my cell phone with nobody at the other end. He asked what my friend's name was, and picked up the phone, then looked totally perplexed. I was like "what happened, is she disconnected?" He looks at me and goes "what... what am I? OH! Is this a voicemail?" "....no.... can I see the phone?" Call ended. Rock on, me. So I was like "I'll be RIGHT back!" I ran and re-dialed her, yelled at her, and then had to go find him again. He was totally sweet about it, and talked to her for a minute or two, wished her a happy birthday, and then returned my phone. heh. NOT one of my favorite encounters.
