I guess I have pretty low standards when it comes to behavior, because my Hebrew school class (we were around 2 was apparently the worst class in over 50 years. It was just awful. We had kids climb out of windows and run around the buildings. Baaaaaaaaaad. No respect for the teachers. But this class is different.
eek. That sounds... scary.
It was. I hated most of my classmates and I hated Hewbrew school (so did everyone else). Luckily, the bad apples left after 7th grade, never to be seen again. Now I'm friends with the nice, involved ones.
Bleh..Off to do more Bio homework. I'm heading into 5 hours just this weekend.
I'm listening to the Downstage Center interview now. He's so nice and CUTE! And so freaking eloquent.

So, where was Raul in those days of Sept. 11th?
"Our album came out on September 11th, and I kept recieving letters from people saying that they had gone to buy the album that morning.... A few days later, we went back to work and I thought, 'this is the stupidest thing. How can we be doing this? The city's burning. How can we do this?' ...and the second performance back the sound board blew, and just... huge, it sounded like a bomb. Everybody screamed in the theatre. I was playing the piano on the song 'Why.' I couldn't breathe. I just pushed the piano away from me and the band took over and I just sat in the chair, and sang it, tears streaming down my face, looking at all of these young kids, looking up at me. The city's just been blown up around them, and I'm singing about.... you've gotta go on. I know things are bad, but you've gotta go on. This is why we do this."
What interview is that from?
There's much more to that. He talks about volunteering at Chelsea Piers, and being recognized by a cop at St. Patrick's when he went to light a candle that night. It's really, really powerful.
ETA - Downstage Center, Elphie. You'll get there. It's about TTB.

Not sure. Aigoo posted a bulletin on MySpace about it. I was really close to shedding a tear when I read it.
Just thought I'd put it up.
Oh, good. I'm only at about 16 minutes right now, though.

I particularly like the bit about volunteering... no actor is 'above' helping out in a time of crisis.
Can I just say that I am in love with his Spanish accent and his "r"s. *sigh*
Me too. In that part especially, there's emotional investment in every word he says. He has a kind heart.

hee, I know he's Cuban, but I'd never heard his Spanish accent before.
Lofelofelofe!
His accent only creeps in very occasionally, unless he's speaking Spanish, though. It's very faint, if you hear it at all.
There was this one thing he said IN Spanish, and that was exciting!
mmm. About the guy who did something for Sesame Street, or something? I've listened to it WAY too many times. gah.

Yeah, I forget why/what.
I can't remember what it was. I think it was the title of some show he did in school or something.
Awww, he's crying. Now I'm crying.

I don't know what to do with crying people, but Raul's awfully sweet.
He cries, and then I cry, too. It's awful.
He's very good at touching people.
