Well, since they're keeping the cast and have chosen a theater, what else is there to announce besides dates?

Dates, definitely. But I'm curious to know if this is gonna be an open ended run, if they are gonna do any drastic changes from Cincinnati, and I also want to know what the adds are gonna look like and if Raul is gonna get top billing. I'm just so curious about it aaaaaall.
I've become mildly obsessed with Raul and Marc Kudisch's duet from Broadway Under the Stars last year. They sound great together.

They sang two Kander and Ebb songs... there's a clip on Raul's website.

*cries* I guess Sweeney and Company aren't gonna overlap after all. Tis an awful shame.
The pic is from the opening night party for Taboo. There are a couple more I found which I'll upload in a minute (I need to clean Grover's water first).... but I did want to mention that I remember John Doyle saying that much wasn't changing between the Cinci and B'Way productions... Blocking is different because of the new venue but I can't remember specifically what he said was going to be different.
I'm really curious about billing and adverts too...
As for opening... I'm just curious to see all the hoopla surrounding opening nights.
Today was the last day of the Sundance Theatre Lab... I wonder how it went. Ok... fish needs H20 ASAP, bbl
'Seems an awful waste.'
Okay, that doesn't quite follow, but close.
I can imagine that at least some of the blocking will need to be changed to accommodate the differences in the stage, but that's probably a good thing as there were (I think) a few moments where the blocking was awkward, at least in comparison to Sweeney's seamlessness. In any case, I really can't wait to hear about it.
Chrys, you should check your messages on... that site which shall not be named.
More Taboo opening night pictures.
Sorry about the watermark, but you know... copyrights and such. I tried to get an account to get pics sans watermark but they had an interview process to get into the thing and, well, it's not worth the trouble, i'm sure.
I do love that man in eyeliner!!

Siren!!! I am forever in your debt!
Whoa, that was amazing. I will say this though, his nose looked HUGE when it was a complete profile at the line "I could look at her forever". I've never noticed it to be that big before. In all honesty, I think I prefer Michael's Color and Light. But Raul's Finishing the Hat. Strange.
And yeah...that Melissa Ericco ain't a shy one at all. She was just there in all her glory.

And Gilly, I like when we post after each other! My two favorite men holding dogs. There really is no such thing cuter.
lol Chrys... There's nothing better than those two absolute cuties... and Michael and Raúl too
I'm really, really curious as to whether Doyle ever saw Sam Mendes's Company revival in London.

*scratches head* I didn't know there was a Mendes revival of Company in London! Whas it done the same way as Cabaret?
Yes, there was! It was at the Donmar Warehouse in '96... it was filmed and aired on BBC (as was Cabaret a couple of years before). It wasn't as vast a reinvention as Mendes' Cabaret, but it was apparently pretty trippy with some interesting aspects (drug use beyond pot, for one).
Edit: There's a cast recording, but I don't think that it really reflects the different staging... mainly, the actors are sub-par singers.

Sounds very interesting! Gotta love Sam Mendes!
Sam Mendes makes me happy. If only he could direct the Sweeney Todd movie...

Has Mendes ever directed a film before? If not, I'd wonder if his brilliance with stage productions would translate onto film.
He directed American Beauty, Road to Perdition and Jarhead.

Oh. Well, in THAT case, I should clearly shut up (and pay more attention to directors).
I rarely pay attention to movie directors, so don't feel bad.
All 3 of those movies have really great Thomas Newman scores too.
*is a dork*
Ahem. Back to Raul...
