Wasn't Mendes originally rumored to be directing Sweeney? He's listed as a producer, although I think that IMDb is pretty.... non-official.

Yeah, he was originally supposed to direct it. And that would have made me a very happy person. But, alas.

Raul is the only Bobby I've *heard*...so he has to be my favorite.

Yeah, last year at Wall to Wall Sondheim I remember Stephen (ha ha, I love the idea of calling him that) said that a film was in the works and Sam Mendes really wanted to be a part of it. Alas, I guess it didn't work out.

It is the best picture in the entire world.
