Posted: 3/13/06 at 12:38amSo, that article confused me a little bit. Guitar or no guitar?
#1027It's all about the curl.
Posted: 3/13/06 at 12:40amNot sure. Sounds like no guitar?
#1028It's all about the curl.
Posted: 3/13/06 at 12:50amI think it sounded like he might play the guitar. To me it sounded like it was saying that the only instrument that Raul plays well is guitar, but he has work on the piano for the part. That doesn't rule out him also playing the guitar, though maybe if he played both they'd have mentioned it. It wouldn't make a ton of sense to not utilize the one thing he actually plays unless it's important to the symmetry of the show or something.

I love the new headshot. And I'll make sure Emcee says something.
I'm a bit weirded out by the "dreamy" Sondheim comment at the end of that article. Eek. I mean, the man's a musical genius, but dreamy? Really?

Ok, so ever since I got hooked on Broadway shows and joined this board a couple months ago, I kept reading about this guy Raul Esparza. So this weekend I was interested in finding out more about him. I finally looked him up, and omG he's amazing! I've been missing out lol I had no idea he'd been in Rocky Horror, Cabaret, AND Tick Tick...Boom! I've heard some audio/video clips of him singing and have read/watched some interviews, and he seems like a truly amazing and sincerely nice person, and extremely talented. I'm gonna go out and buy the soundtrack to Tick Tick...Boom sometime this week, I didn't know he played Jonathon! That's really awesome. So yeah, thought I'd share. Yay for getting into another Broadway star. hehe :o)

Welcome to the thread. May I also recommend the Taboo OBCR?
Emcee, DUH, but I don't have room to hang up my lifesize poster over my bed because all my ALW pin-ups!

Yessss, Taboo.
If you want to get to know his work, also get a copy of The Normal Heart, just because it's phenomenal.
ALW. Hot.

god that is one great effing headshot.
good news! i sent my resume to roundabout a few weeks ago because they had posted about House Staff openings - got a call from the Studio 54 House Manager! Don't know what will happen - she left a message on my dorm phone a week ago when I was on Spring Break - left her a message but haven't heard back yet...but exciting! This is the first I've heard back from the many, many resumes I have sent out!!

Okay, so I've been looking for this interview with Raul where talks about TNH and the experience and such, but I can't seem to find the one I'm looking for. Does anyone know what I am talking about, or am I crazy? Thanks.
I might need to change my avatar....

#1048It's all about the curl.
Posted: 3/13/06 at 10:45pmI'm not sure. I think my problem is that I'm mixing up about 10 different interviews. There's a specific quote, I think, about how TNH impacts him, or something. It might be an audio interview, but I can't check because I have no sound right now. *sigh* I'll find it. I hope. The quote in my brain is perfect for my paper.

Ooh, Kooks! That is so exciting! I hope everything works out well with the Roundabout.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you like Bernarda Alba?
