Yes, but then while we're waiting in the cold, we can chat with Peter, who'll be sneaking to go get a slice of pizza. ok, that was just silly, lol (and this time, I can't blame the nyquil!)
Joe's Pub opens at 6 for dinner. We should get there early anyway. Wouldn't want to lose our front row streak.
And I HATE Sweeneyboppers. Damnit!

Well, Manoheads could be the smaller faction of the Sweeneyheads, which Mano seems to think is an actual term.
Do big Sweeney fans call themselves Sweeneyheads?
Sweeneyheads? That's a new term. Manoheads and Sweeneyheads sound like it came from the same family, similar genus, different species (Ohoho, taxonomy!).
Whoa, Sweeneybobbers? Eugh.

How about Fanos as a name for the Mano fans?
I'm picking my tickets up at the box office too, but I was under the impression that you can do that on any day, not just the day of the show.

I don't really call myself anything. We joke about "Toddsluts", but it's all in fun. But, really, I'm just a fan of the show, and of Sondheim's entire oeuvre. I think making a cutesy name sort of diminishes the overall artistic greatness of a show like "Sweeney Todd". But that's just me.
eta: Fanos!! LMAO!

Posted: 3/20/06 at 4:44pmI love how this all started with me saying "Morning Mano Mates" this morning - by which I only meant "hello to my mates who love Mano." I hope you guys are all joking, which I'm pretty sure you are, because I would *never* call myself a Sweeneybopper.

I'll smoke if I want to! Even if Mano scolds me (that lil hypocrite! lol) :p
And I thought you were over the whole "Peter hates meee!" thing. Silly goose!!
eta: I know I've been totally joking about all the names (especially Manonites, which admit it, is pretty funny). And I think to be a Sweeneybopper, you have to have seen the show... (ha! I kid!) I really hate cutesy show groupie names. No offense to anyone.

I'm kidding. I wish we could have a different font color or something for when you're sarcastic. That would be so easy.

hehehehe. There really SHOULD be a way to denote sarcasm on the internet.
I wonder if they'll do any other Hidden Sky songs at the Joe's Pub gig. That would rock my world.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 5:24pmThe title song (er, what I've heard of it) was gorgeous, but I don't know anything else about it. Updated On: 3/20/06 at 05:24 PM

I know, isn't it? It's a musical that Mano's musical director Peter Foley wrote the score for (he's also one of Mano's oldest and closest friends). Mano's a HUGE fan of that show.
And cause I love pimping Peter's website:
http://www.hellagoodmusic.com/
It has info on Hidden Sky (including snippets of other songs from the show), and his other work.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 5:30pmFYI: If you put on 'Revelation/All Is Number' and just keep listening to it play over and over for an hour, you'll sing it ALL day, the next day. So good, man.
