I kept my mouth shut rather than telling my mother to look out for the violin player in Sweeney. heh. Granted, she was also lecturing me about fires, so it probably wouldn't have worked to go "MANO!!!" in the middle of that. What was I going to say? "Look out for the cute violin player in his pajamas!! He's good at EVERYTHING!"?

When she saw Piazza (WITHOUT ME) she came home going on and on about how cute Aaron Lazar was.

... I don't think Mano is really her type. Especially sporting the eyeliner. Even though it's not like... in drag context, that's not her thing.

I honestly think she is going to hate the show.

Buy a ticket for another show at TKTS, then switch it with her Sweeney one...you'll see Sweeney and she can go see...Ring of Fire. hahaha.

Actually, my mom told me a few weeks ago that she saw the ORIGINAL production of Sweeney. I guess she liked it. I dunno. She doesn't remember who she saw, or anything. I'm surprised, though, because my mom doesn't really "do" shows where you have to think too much. Either way, if she likes Sweeney, I don't think the minimalist concept is particularly up her alley; I'll just have to forget to remind her that Company is the same.

My dad probably would, but Sweeney isn't his kind of show. He just... even though I make fun of him, has a definite eye for serious talent.

I wish my parents had interest in Sondheim.

I got my dad to take me, and he said he liked it, but I don't think he really did. I know that he didn't understand most of the plot.
After the show, "Who was the Beadle? What was he doing? His role was very unclear"
My mom is convinced that The Lion King is the best Broadway show everrr..so I bet she'd hate it.

I try to brainwash people, but I've only been successful with Rent and Ave Q

I saw Sweeney with my mom, and she liked it. My dad likes theater, but thinks that having the actors playing the instruments is going to ruin the show.

I RENT brainwashed my dad. He likes Adam, too.

My mom thinks Raul is cute, but she also thinks he's ... weird (though she has choice words, trust me).... amongst other things.

Mano is... probably normal, by her standards. Not that what she thinks is normal like, matters, or anything, but at least she won't say weird stuff about him. But, from watching him play Toby, she won't know how smart he is and whatnot. And I don't think she thinks straight jackets are cute.

hee. I love the stuff about messing up Mano's name. Maggie Well!

My mom loved Mano...but she FELL ASLEEP during parts of the show, as did my sister. I have no idea how they did that! Geeze, luckily they got to see a lot of Mano during their consciousness.

Ah yes, I've been making my friends Mano converts...soon, he will take over the world. I mean...

He definitely seems like the type of guy that you could take home to mom. If ya know what I mean...he's really cute, very well spoken and intelligent, musically inclined, cultured with all of his languages, funny. Aww. *pets*.
