Let's compile a list of actors you believe to be still in contention for a Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Then we will shrink the list down to five.

List of contenders (edited daily):

Kevin Bacon (The Woodsman)
Javier Bardem (The Sea Inside)
Jeff Bridges (The Door in the Floor)
Billy Crudup (Stage Beauty)
Jim Carrey (Eternal Sunshine)
Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda)
Johnny Depp (Finding Neverland)
Leonardo DiCaprio (The Aviator)
Jamie Foxx (Ray)
Paul Giamatti (Sideways)
Clive Owen (Closer)
Liam Neeson (Kinsey)
Denzel Washington (Man on Fire)

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Jim Carrey (even though I am sure he will be snubbed)

I hope Depp gets it. Once again I think he is nominated for the wrong movie but hopefully they can reward his body of work. But hollywood has to give him the award for the safe movie.

Nope. I really liked that movie. Didnt think I was going to like it at all, had no desire to see it despite Denzel being in it. A friend convinced me to see it and I loved it. Thought he gave a great performance.

(psh, I dont see many movies -- dont have the time)

So; why do you hpe he wins if you haven't seen the movie yet? Simply because youlike him? I would think yu would want to look at his work in the picture before saying something like that.

Jamie Fox seems to be the favorite. However Leonardo is so good in Aviator that he just might walk away with it.

I haven't seen The Aviator but I've got a soft spot for Leo so I'd love to see him win. It looks like a great film and I've heard amazing things about his performance.

I have to go with Johnny Depp for this. Not only is his film better than Ray, but it's his time.
