Posted: 4/16/05 at 8:10pmEspecially "A Shot in the Dark," which I think was the funniest Clouseau film. I don't think the Pink Panther was even featured, but it was definitely Elke Sommer's highpoint (years before she was reduced to feuding with Zsa Zsa Gabor for publicity).

Elke was cute in A Shot in the Dark.
The new Panther remake with Steve Martin looks rancid.

They tried remaking it three times with Ted (That Girl) Bessell Alan Arkin & Roberto Begnini.
My question is why bother. You cannot top Sellers in this role. It is like asking Davis Hasselhoff to do a remake of Casablanca or Maltese Falcon to play the Bogie roles. SCARY
