Yeah... it is something that you have to be really careful with. The only time I've ever done the online meeting thing is with people from this board, and it's almost always been at very organized functions. I've spoken with them on the phone beforehand, and I'm definitely VERY careful. And I've gotten some wonderful friends out of it.

i've only ever done the online meeting thing by accident (met people from my school online, eventually had classes with them).

i remember actually going on a DATE with some guy i met on the phone at work!!! can you imagine?! I must have been insane (or young and reckless)

I'd never try that stuff now......

I've done that with people at school, too, actually. But that online 'enviroment' was very controlled. You needed a valid, three-times confirmed school e-mail address to get in to get in touch with people, anyway. It's actually a great way to meet your classmates.

My friend's sister met a guy from Germany (she was in Canada) and after they met in person they got married
but i surely think it's kind of dangerous

Hey all, just got back home. I'm heading out again in 40 minutes so I won't be back for a while. (Luckily, not going out on a date with That Evil Asshole Who Must Not Be Named - aka Jaydon.)

Test went SH*Tty. Could have been worse. Could have been MUCH better. Looks like the glory days of fitted pantsuits, sports car, oh and doing a case or two once in a while may have to be put on hold.

Funny about the whole metting people online thing. I've met the best friend I've ever had online. I didn't make plans to meet them, but rather we found out we were all going to be at the same event, so we met. Of course, I spoke with them on the phone first...I'm very careful about all that stuff.

i met ANOTHER guy on that same date - and wound up being with him for a year!...
