So I can't buy it?
Awww....
It wasn't Idina's top. It used to belong to Christine Fadale, I believe.

"my kids hear more cussing, etc on the bus too and from school than RENT could ever provide them - which is why our discussions are always so open ..."
Exactly. Like right now its 'cool' to listen to rap music at my school. To me, rap is just some rich guy with an ego problem talking about sex, drugs, drinking, violence etc. My parents are okay with Rent now because, as my mom said, 'if you're going to be hearing it, at least the people involved are talented and a little more down-to-earth'. But if you have such open discussion, then that can't be replaced by a musical.
"they will see RENT eventually to be sure... right now I have them "hooked" on musicals that are a little more age-appropriate. But they are hooked on musicals!!! How I love that!"
Good to know they'll see RENT eventually though... I mean you can't have played Joanne in the original cast and expected to keep the show from your children...
And glad to hear they are interested in some musicals. Broadway can always use a few more fans

if any of you saw rent recently, did u see the BCEFA auction for a one-time walk-on part in life support with a costume fitting and a rehersal with the cast for $2500??? if i had that much (allowance doesn't account for too much, and i dont have a job, i volunteer) i'd jump at the chance INSTANTLY

I've been told it's like overextended blinking, but this is merely a rumour...

So, because Rent never really was able to be completed by Jonathan... do you know of any parts/songs that would have been tweaked further? Someone mentioned that he said there was one line he wanted to change, but I've not yet heard which he was referring to. I'm fascinated by the entire process.
Have you ever heard of/seen the "infamous" bootleg of Rent from opening night? - I've always wanted to know this!

I'll try to find the picture for you, Krissy. I'll either email it to you, or tell Meg to find it and send it to you. Haha.
So, Fredi, how do you feel about us refering to the RENT book as 'the Bible'?

'did u see the BCEFA auction for a one-time walk-on part in life support with a costume fitting and a rehersal with the cast for $2500???'
Thats a lot of money... but for a rehersal with the cast.....
would be rather tempting, however I was rather young in 1996, would look rather out of place in a 'life support' meeting and my parents would so not pay that much...
Oh well. As of now, just SEEING the show would make me mucho happy.

extreme side note, anyone on the east coast that cares, Rosario Dawson is going to be on Conan Obrien Right now.
That said.
I wish Rent would make a complete production video. I would love to have that in my collection.

I tell ya Charlie - you ask the hard ones...
I'm sure there is much Jonothan would have done if he had the chance... but we'll never know what exactly.
I don't know about a line he wanted to change - I do know about lines that were changed after he left us and I'd love to ask him how he felt about one in particular...
what can we say - some would say that he left as he wanted it or he wouldn't have been able to leave.... I'll guess I'll find out when I get to the "other side"
