Hi Fredi, I don't know if you've read the other threads, but I was wondering what you felt about the RENT movie?

wow Fredi, that sounds like a nightmare! I bet you laugh about it now though...:) Anthony wouldn't tell us something that happened to him because he said he was saving it for a talkshow

" What do you think of the cast recording of the show? I believe Anthony commented earlier that some were disappointed in it/had different expectations."

at first there was some disappointment - I remember everyone kinda wishing it had a more "raw" or "live" sound you know?

But, in retrospect, I'm cool with it. It brings tears to my eyes to hear it.

Would you believe that in all these years I've listened to it all the way through less than 10 times? Once a year or so it all the reminicing (sp?) I can take...

I know that some people don't like answering a question like this, but which character did you have the most fun with?

*nods*
It always sounds so different live; maybe they can capture that on the soundtrack, should one be recorded.

Hey, guys... poll: shall I be "official?" I feel like it's kind of silly.... but you all asked for it before.

I understand that sentiment completely, and the acceptance. It's interesting then, that once the cd became a staple of most musical theatre people's collection, that many regarded it as a raw rock sound. I must say that for that reason I'm interested to hear the soundtrack to the film.

Did you get a chance to see Tick Tick Boom at any points of its creation? I know Jonathan was working on it before Rent (And I seem to recall hearing he tinkered with it a bit during?) If you were able to see it, was Raul's characterization anything like Jonathan was in life?

which one did I enjoy playing the most?

or-

which character in RENT did I enjoy playing against the most?

Yeah, I did the same thing.

I also flipped on the Dutch cast to hear a bit of "Seizoenen van Liefde" but I came back to the Broadway one to listen to "Take Me or Leave me"

I hadn't listened to this in a while - it's a nice reminder. re: The Rent Welcome Wagon Updated On: 11/21/04 at 09:57 PM

I personally adore the OBC. There's definately something special about those cds...or in my case CD because I can't afford the double disk, and when I can, I forget lol.

Has Fredi caught up on all the questions so far? (I don't want this to get out of hand a la Anthony's thread so I think we should wait till she's caught up before we barrage her with 20 more. re: The Rent Welcome Wagon)

Yes, I love Tick Tick Boom's music. It is nice to see it popping up in certain markets around the US.

Okay, here's a fun Rent question... were there any songs from NYTW you really enjoyed that didn't make the final show? Any interesting scenes that were cut?

And, what is your interpretation of "Contact" because many people speculate constantly.

fredi, i have to ask, what's your favorite ice cream flavor? and also, if people recognize you, do they call you by your name or by the name of a character you've played?
