OH! mix CDs! that reminds me! in addition to secret santa, my friends and i are all making mix CDs and exchanging them. i have to do that...
i first heard RENT at sleepaway camp when i was 10... the girl in the cabin who brought the boombox was pretty much in charge of it, and all we listened to was moulin rouge and RENT. as soon as i got home after 8 weeks i immediately bought both.

puppets -- when i first heard of q i thought of sesame street, to tell you the truth...
maybe because they are real paople doing all that stuff on stage and not puppets..
Fredi, we are all glad you got the job.. pretty sure it wouldn't have been the same without you.. And can I jsut say about the other person offered the role.. thats sad, if you are in theatre sometimes you do shows that aren't necessarily in line with what your personal life is like..

well, the puppets DO have sex on stage...
'i hear another actress was offered JoAnne but turned it down because of religious reasons....
I give thanks to her God everyday '
Haha thats showbiz in a nutshell
Rent was just another show on my local Broadway Series
I was eleven
It was the most moving show I have ever seen (and remains so)

(i'd like to add that my list is always changing as to what musicals I like the best...Man of La Mancha used to be where Fiddler is...how sad)

"yeah well - how naughty can you really get with puppets?"
Oh dear
Fredi, as the resident q~tip on these boards I would be HAPPY to tell you ALL about the "naughtiness" of Q in detail
I get to see a couple of shows a year.. Mainly I'm either in shows or working on them..
And I have never been to NY so no broadway shows for me..

tell me about it cam - I can't even count all the lovely young ladies I was forced to dissappoint..
(how do you spell this stupid word? I HATE double ss's and p's)
I hate it because I spend the evening deconstructing the show.. It's horrible.. I wish I could just sit and enjoy a show.. I can only think of one that I have seen recently and not deconstructed.. I even found myself deconstructing LSOH..

I can agree to that...
For example, theatre class, I had to play a role and do things that are quite embarrassing to do in front of people - but I got an A on it, so that made it kind of better...

LOL s2b...
"q-tip" sounds naughty all by itself...
HELLO TO YOU TOO ROGERRADAMES!!!
Cam, I totally agree about deconstructing. I need to watch a show a couple of times to be able to relax, sit back and enjoy.
Most of the Broadway shows (on Bway) I've seen thus far:
Cats
The Lion King
Ragtime
Annie Get Your Gun
The Music Man
Chicago
Les Mis
42nd Street
Aida
Kiss Me Kate
The Producers
The Full Monty
Metamorphesis
Urinetown (2)
Rent
Dance of the Vampires
Phantom of the Opera
La Boheme
Hairspray
Nine
Gypsy
Wicked (2)
Avenue Q (3)
Not too shabby for a Floridian huh?

The only show that I find is to a minimun is Rent.. MAybe because I've seen it so many times..
Hi RR, welcome, join the fun, hope we dont scare you off with our crazy topics..
The most times I've seen a show would probably be Chicago - 12 times. I know CJR, of course, can put me to shame, but I'm pretty damn proud of it :)

totally the same cam - can't watch ANYTHING anymore without seeing the budget - imagining the contract negotiations - re-writing the script...
in film I catch EVERY flaw - lighting shadows, continuity breaks...
it has to be SO GOOD for me to forget all that and just enjoy it...
BSO - I KNOW HOW TO SPELL THAT ONE! 'cause they wrote a song about it - so there!

I wish I got to see Urinetown live. I listen to the music - it's great. I was walking to AQ with my mom and we walkerd by Hunter Foster - I didn't see him. My mom smiled at him and then turned to me and asked if I saw him.
Oh well, my friend and I saw him in the lobby at the Tonys with his wife - but she (my friend) was too afraid to talk to him...(but I forced her to take a picture after we saw the producers)...
