sorry...that was me getting a little overexcited.

i got a B on the final.
meaning I passed the class (took it pass/no pass, rather than for a grade), meaning I officially kicked MAJOR ASS this quarter.

I'm too tired to be ghetto. White, Jewish, misical theatre actress....not the most ghetto of things.

Yay me!!! 4.0 this quarter...with 2 A+'s (they really should count for more than normal As)

No kidding! How come A+ and A are both 4.0?? What's the point in making any distinction then?

i don't know...although because you need such a high grade to pull an A+, it's not often that big of a problem.

i am just that damn good.

You are! But it's just the principle of having different letter grades and %ages but having the same GPA recognition. How stupid! Wait, why are we discussing GPAs on here, and threadjacking on the GPA thread? Hahaha!

Are you on the west coast as well? I thought you were based in NYC for some reason.

Are you gunning for NYU? Do you know if I go to grad school in the States, will I still need to write the SAT first?

I reeeeeeeally want to get into NYU. But Northwestern (in chicago) would be wonderful as well.

I don't think you'd have to take the SAT. Would you apply to law schools in the states? Where?

See, the name Northwestern, in Chicago never made sense. Shouldn't Northwestern be in Washington? Or Oregon or something?

Anyway, I would apply for the top ones - NYU, Harvard, Yale, maybe UCLA so I can be in sunny Cali (even though you wanna get outta there!)...I've heard good things about Brooklyn College, I think it is? The funny thing about the Ivy Leagues (like Harvard or Yale) is that the GPA and LSAT requirements are minimally higher than UBC. I think I need a 169 LSAT score and like a 3.7-.8 CGPA or something, both which are in the realm of possibility for me. So really, the only real challenge in going to those schools would be paying for them! *sigh*

I'm keen on NYU though - I was hoping to go to U of Toronto or NYU for my undergrad, but esp. NYU is SO expensive for international students! I would be paying in the 6-digits! (If I'm not mistaken, that's annually!)

NYU is expensive for everyone....but I wanna go there!!!

And I agree about the name Northwestern not making any sense.

Ooh....we should SO both go to NYU.

I just went on the NYU website to see how much it would've cost me as an undergrad. Does this makes sense to you?

College of Arts and Science

Full time students, tuition, 12 to 18 points flat rate, per term $ 14,164.00
Nonreturnable registration and services fee for flat rate $ 883.00
College of Arts Science Academic Support Fee $ 25.00
Additional tuition, 19 or more points per term, per point (includes a nonreturnable registration and services fee of $52.00) $ 887.00

Tuition, per point $ 835.00
Nonreturnable registration and services fee,
first point Fall Term 2004 $ 262.00
first point Spring Term 2005 $ 275.00
Nonreturnable registration and services fee, per point, for registration after first point $

Yeah....basically, as an undergrad, you would have been paying about 30 grand a year- plus room and board.

See, that's what I thought it said too - and that doesn't seem so bad. Not quite affordable, but not heinous like Harvard or Yale. But then it says there's a $14000 flat rate, PLUS $835/point. (I assume this is a credit point.)

The US is 30 credits/yr right? 2 semesters of 15 credits?

Nope, that's the 887/point on top of that one on the list. Ah well, doesn't matter. I won't be doing an undergrad. I'd be doing the JD, which is actually not too bad!

How much would school cost for you though as a Masters student?

School of Law ( J.D. Program)

Tuition, full time, per term (12-18 credit hours) $ 17,855.00
Fall Term 2004 nonreturnable registration and services fee $ 433.00
Spring Term 2005 nonreturnable registration and services fee $ 445.00

Tuition per point $ 1,488.00
Nonreturnable registration and services fee,
first point Fall Term 2004 $ 158.00
first point Spring Term 2005 $ 170.00
Nonreturnable registration and services fee, per point, for registration after first point $ 25.00

Cam! We missed you!

Since I wasn't on last night and won't be on much today, I just wanted to tell everyone that I didn't die. I survived my exams, I saw the funniest play EVER last night, and today I am going to get my electric guitar, which is my big Christmas present this year.

It's a red Fender, btw. Beat THAT!
