heh...
was that bar there when you were in the show?
fredi,
you should let yourself go gaga. what you did in that"little show" was absolutely amazing, and it has meant more than you will ever know to more people than you can imagine (myself included).
End fangirl moment.

NTG --
i think you already have prescriptions that you take...
me i'm into holistic rememdies..
this is great for cold/flu if you can use it...
(it's also THE SINGER'S REMEDY!! It'll get you through ANYTHING!)
hot water w/honey to about Halle Berry's color...
add 1 capful of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
1 clove of garlic (chopped)
1 small piece of fresh giner (chopped)
as much cayenne pepper as you can take...
(singer's version can be with or w/o garlic and ginger - that's if you're sick...)
pump extra C and GET REST!! (good for anything...)
be prepared to sweat out the night (keep dry jammies near by)
feel better!
"hot water w/honey to about Halle Berry's color..."
you rock fredi.
Thanks, Fredi, but I don't think my mom's gonna let me try it...she's too freaked out to even let me take the sleep stuff the doctor gave me at the same time as taking Advil. ::sigh::
I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future though.

There's this mad neighbor of mine who's always ranting about Halle Berry...
'this whole thing about her being black's a swizz! She's only in it for the moolah!'
Suffice to say he is quite mad.

Okay, well...update on that. My mother says if I still am sick tomorrow we'll try it tomorrow night... Now how's that gonna work?? The night before I'm supposed to sing??!
that's hilarious ellie. believe it or not, my grandma thinks the same thing about a newscaster in the LA area.

i understand ntg - just keep it on file for future ref...
also (sounds nasty but TOTALLY WORKS)
Keep a jar of apple cider vinegar (not regular white...) with 2 cloves of garlic in your cupboard...
use 1 teaspoon in a glass of water every day!
great immunity builder! my 84 year-old-mom takes it every day and is like NEVER sick...
when I discipline myself to it every day - i stay healthy too! usually use it during the winter to keep from catching OTHER PEOPLE'S colds!!!
really have to get back to it this year - EVERYBODY'S SICK for some crazy reason....
need to bring some alcohol to wipe the equipment i share with others as well....

Do we have say suffice other than in the expression "suffice it to say?"
yes...we say that something should suffice

good idea, i am always sick around New Years!
This is the first time I've been sick this year, actually. ::sigh:: Such an inconvenient time...but then there never is, is there...
Fredi, if I do it tomorrow night, is it gonna help or hurt for me being able to sing on Friday night? And have you ever used Throat Coat? Does it work?
Broadway Legend Joined: 11/20/04
ntg - it won't hurt you even before you sing...
even AS you sing...
that brew (called the "witches brew" among singers in the know...) has saved many a performance...
in performance - you can drink it with or w/o the garlic/ginger combo...
but definitely use those when you drink it at night... that's what is going in to kill all those nasty germs and build your antibodies... so there will be a little war going on in your body while you sleep and that's what's going to make you sweat...
sweat is good - get all those impurities out of you!!!

throat coat's not too bad - i only use it if there's nothing else around..
da brew is DA BOMB!!
(don't taste so good... especially that cayenne - *hot* but it does the job..)
remember, you can use it DURING your performance without side effect....
how long do you guys think it will be until we have more posts than the official adam pascal love thread?

hmm, and this lady i know from costa rica only told me to use tea and honey
Well seeing as how Throat Coat makes me want to puke every time I drink it...
Okay, *now* my mother's really into this...
She wants to know
1) when you put the stuff into the water, do you steep it for a certain amount of time and
2) do you strain the stuff out before you drink it, or do you leave it in
Ahhh, BST...the invisible thread...I refuse to comment or som will kill me. Not to mention Emcee...

the worst thing about singing when you're sick is the inflamation of the vocal cords and the extra mucus on your cords...
ask beka about doing gymnastics on inflammed muscles (or having "water" collecting on your joints...)
it's the same with the voice...
so it's most important to burn off that extra phelgm (the cayenne) and to be sure that your nasal passage is clear and you can get air...
the honey is like a natural lube job to sooth rubbing of the cords and the vinegar helps to bring down the inflamation...
KNOW YOUR VOICE - take care of it!!!
