Random question for Freddi that I thought of while listening to the broadway version of The Lion King on the way home from rehersal...
In 'Lioness Hunt' 'Rafiki Mourns', 'One By One' as well as a few other songs in show, theres some sort of african chanting, and I was just wondering if you knew if any of it translated into english or if it was there to set the mood and add some harmony?

'NTG, this is why the board is anonymous (at least for those of us who don't use our own photos in our avatars)'
Hmmm. I blew that a while ago... pic as avatar, name, and even footage of me singing in 'Canaan Days'...
Now why the heck did I do that?
And whats all this about coughing? I guess its not that big of a deal but if someone would fill me in that would be great

poor steven...
i hope you get that worked out... I get hundreds of spams per day let along emails... (thank God for filters and such!!!)
as to being careful about pics..
it came instinctively - but it was solidified by Vanessa's little Miss America ordeal (and since then how many celeb ordeals?) I've never wanted to be a person who pimped my personal life to help my career (as so many do these days - can you say "Ben Affleck"?)
I always wanted to be like Paul Newman and JoAnne Woodward or those other classy hollywood types (Like Hanks for example) who manage to keep your mind on their WORK and out of their lives.

Glory, that clip sounded lovely, but no one could make out your face. No worries.
I hate the JLo types who are more famous for being famous than for great acting. Earn your fame.

Which is reason #5435 that you are much different than Frenchie!

yes in Circle - Nan zingonya ma ba ki ti baba
(there goes the lion and the lepoard with his spots) it's a traditional way of introducing royalty (who always wore lion or lepoard skin robes)
okay - still catching up

Thats one thing I dont think I could handle about being a modern day celebrity, I like having my privacy.. I wish the public could respect the fact that just because a person is a celeb it doesn't give us the right to know every little detail about their lives. Celebs are people too, we dont own the,m.. They are just doing their jobs.
( I will admit to moments of sheer fangirliness, but who doesn't have those?)

There's a line between expected exposure and being a famewhore. I mean, you don't need to be a hermit, but we don't need to know about every fight with your significant other. Show a little class in the spotlight. (Though that's probably easier said than done)
Nifty translation, Fredi.

fredi - he won like 2.5 million -- and he's STILL working, loves his job he said. i respect that totally.
in my newspaper they have a little "jeopardy watch" box on the entertainment page that keeps track of how much he's won...

Ah, I love you all, but I hope the mods fix my problem soon! Haha.
Didn't the guy get over $2 million? Wow, that's insane.
How does he lose? I missed it.

"famewhore" I like that. May I use it?
I always warn my students about getting into this biz for the fame - it's more fleeting than the money...
and you're right cam - it's hard - I mean you guys are WAY COOL - but soooooo many are not.
there literally would be people at my house during RENT - going through my trash, etc...
it was sick - and that's "just" a B'way show - ya know?
