re: The Return of Jezebel James tomorrow night

It's not even so bad it's good. It's just awful.

re: The Return of Jezebel James tomorrow night

I have never seen Gilmore Girls, but I know the same creator of that show started The Return of Jezebel James.

The writing on this show is just terrible. As a writer myself, it makes me cringe to watch it. I knew as soon as I heard the title it was going to get bad ratings. A writer knows that the title is the most important thing and that is what captures the attention of the audience. The title of this show is just plain stupid. It's never a good idea to use the word "return" as part of a television show title. Even with bad reviews, you can easily get high ratings during the first episode if the title peaks the interest of people.

Erin Dilly is going to be on the show tonight.

*CANCELLED*

From Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com:

That was quick.

Fox has closed the book on Amy Sherman-Palladino's post-Gilmore Girls comeback vehicle, The Return of Jezebel James, after three abysmally-rated outings. A Fox spokesperson confirms that the comedy starring Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose as unlikely sisters has aired its last episode.

OK, time for some Monday afternoon quarterbacking. Who deserves the blame here? AS-P? Fox for burying it on Friday night? The person in charge of integrating that horrible laugh track? Posey for failing to be, well, Lauren Graham? Post your theories below.

re: The Return of Jezebel James tomorrow night

It's obvious that Fox aired this show at a death slot when the show had absolutely no chance of surviving.
However, they probably wouldn't have put it on that slot had the show been worthy of a better slot. I blame whoever cast Parker Posey (who had no business doing a sitcom), the writer who thought she could get away with awful, strained comedy at a multi-camera series, and of course whoever added that awful laugh track.
