Stockard, I'm not sure your haiku meets all the traditional criteria for this form of poetry, but it's so "blinking" funny, it should be included in the next Norton Anthology of Contemporary Poetry!
And S-mom, I've always liked you, but it's only through this election that I have learned what a true-blue left-wing bleeding heart liberal you are, which makes me like you even more! Love your haiku, too.

LOL!!! Why thank you.....
What are the criteria for a haiku though.....I thought it just had to be 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.

Posted: 10/4/08 at 12:39pmI can't remember and I'm not interested enough to look it up, but, please don't think it was a criticism, 'cause it's not, goshdarnit! The people who voted me into office when I was mayor of a small town wouldn't know a haiku from an onion ring, so drill, baby, drill!

Posted: 10/4/08 at 12:42pmWhy thanks Miss P! I've actually never considered myself a bleeding liberal before. I am a a true Libran (although I'm really not into astrology- just get a kick out of the traits and it seems that I fit most of them). I just believe in things being fair and equal for all people. Maybe that's why I'm always under so much stress- lol! I'm just so surprised at myself at how caught up I am in this election. There was a thread about questions you would ask the candidates. Well, I would ask Palin out of all the great Republican women in your party, tell me specific reason why you believe you are the most qualified to be the VP? If she started bringing up her family, I would tell her that that doesn't make her unique or the fact that she is from a small town! Uh oh, here I go again! Thanks again. Let me know when you and your family get to Florida- I'm right next to St. Augustine and it's very charming! Thanks again!

HA! S-mom, we were talking YESTERDAY about making a trip to Florida!
I want you to know that I consider "bleeding hear liberal" a compliment!
