Oh yeah Trying to get to ones locker, then to class, and carrying 5 tons of books from class to class is a real joy especially when one only has 3 minutes to do it in...Waay more fun than coloring...

You were lucky you had 3 minutes. We have 2! When I reach high school I will tell you my opinion then, okay? But for now middle school has my vote since I can't tell you about high school.

i have 10 minutes inbetween classes! and i'm semestered which means we go by damn fast but we only have 4 courses at a time.

I guess not unless ya really want to. I did have air conditioning in upper elementary school and I don't in middle. There's a plus!

L5Y makes much more sense now.

I somewhat like middleschool, especially this year. I have very VERY little homework. Last year I had a ton of hw, but all of my friends were in basically all of my classes. Plus, in middle school you can do both band and chorus.

In my highschool, you can't do band and chorus and do a foreign language. I obviously can eventually do both band and chorus, after I get the amount of Spanish I think I'll need for college (I've done one year in middleschool). But at that point, it might be too late to get myself up the chorus food chain. (I want to be in Madrigals, which is the highest chorus that are they actual performer people).

Thus, the confusion.

Mary - you don't have to take a language? We have to a choice of Spanish or Italian. In high school there is a lot more choices!

sooo
from september-january is semester 1. you take half of your courses then, and write the FINAL exam in january.

semester 2 is feb-june. you take your remaining classes then, and write the FINAL exams in june.

you only take 4 courses a semester. and you're only required to take 7 courses, so you can get a free period, too!

Well, according to my stupid guidance person. She never even answered my question completly.

In middle school, we have to take either French or Spanish. In high school I thought it was required to take a language as well, but I guess after you do it for a certain number you don't have to continue. (I have a vague recollection of someone saying 'You can go deeper by going into Spanish 5, but most of you will stop before then..').

I don't remember a lot of what other people asked when we met up to learn about next year, because I was amused with something that happened..

The door was closed and we heard a knock, knock, knock, just to the beat of Light My Candle. A male teacher went to answer it and a female teacher was behind it, so I leaned over to my friend and sang: "What'd you forget?" "Gotta light?".. etc.

My school is split up into 4 marking periods, 5 quinmesters, and 2 semesters. It's all complicated some overlap others and whatever. The four marking periods are each about 3 months and its when report cards are given out. The quinmesters are for cycle and those change every 36 days. And the 2 semesters is for science and S.S. because each is only half a year each.

There aren't any rules. It takes a while to be accepted, and a lot of humor.. I guess. I just never went away, I was always the obnoxious girl who wouldn't stop talking and kissing up to people.

Don't worry I try to be funny but it never happens. It is harder for me online since sarcasm can't be caught as easily. Try the Joanna thread its worth a shot.
