Lexi, you're never alone in having a dirty mind here!
I was never a pen-chewer, but when I was in elementary school I chewed on my erasers all the time.
YES, KATT! I have a hard time lending people my books for precisely that reason. My brother once spilled an entire bottle of water in the Harry Potter book I lent him, and I still haven't completely forgiven him for that.

I HATE it when there's a noticable crease in the spine, if that makes any sense. Looking at a paperback with exactly one or two creases drives me insane. I accidentally did that to my Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath paperback in eighth grade, and I still hate looking at it.
OCD? Probably.
Jessica, I chewed on my Yikes erasers. They never really worked in the first place, and they certainly didn't work after I got them all wet.

I'll chew pens and pencils every so often.
I have an awful habit of chewing on pens. In fact, I was doing it while reading this thread. It's just a nervous habit I guess, but it's probably preferable to nail biting or something.
Sorry to complain (I feel like it's all I ever do lately), but I have a really painful cough. I hope that it goes away soon.

I wish I liked high school better too, but I don't. The least I can say is that I learned a lot, and that's not such a little thing... so maybe it was worth it?
You might like PostSecret, SD (maybe you already read it?). Sometimes I read the things people send in and their feelings are the same as mine, even if the context is a little different. It's sort of comforting.
I don't lick my pens either. Or suck them. Actually, I don't have a pen...
Books should not have any creases. It makes the pages lay funny.

You aren't OCD Lexi...I'm the same way. I let my friend borrow White Oleander a few years ago, and she kept leaving it on the ground and creased the cover up horribly. I haven't read the book since because the cover pains me to look at. I think I need to buy a new copy.
Another friend spilled Smoothie on my copy of Harry Potter, and bought me a new one like half a year later.
ANOTHER friend spilled Lemonade on one of my books, and just gave it back, saying it wasn't that big of a deal.
I'm never letting people borrow my books again.
I sent a secret in! It hasn't been posted though.
I don't suck on pens unless I know where they've been.
...I should stop.
One of the more pointless fights I've had with my mom (and that's saying a lot) stemmed from her bending and creasing of the Princess Diaries book I lent her and her inability to understand why I wanted to buy a new copy.

I know about PostSecret, but I can't say I read them on a regular basis. I pathetically continue to check rentsecrets (why I have no idea), though.
I'm biting my nails as I'm reading this thread. It doesn't help that I'm nervous about AP tests and a million other things.
Feel better, Ash. Go listen to The Arbiter.

I will end up buying a new copy of that book eventually. That definitely is my pet peeve. I hate seeing my books messed up.

I peel the white part of my nails off with my other nails when it gets longer than I like.
*hums Arbiter's Song*
So Mandi, do you buy your pens, get them from friends or pick up the freebies on the street?
Go listen to The Arbiter.
Heh, you know me way too well. There's no need to bother asking which version you're referring to, since all but one are kind of bad.

I really like your avatar, nia. Les Mis was my first Broadway show, and probably my all-time favorite show as well. I'm really curious as to who I saw and should probably dig up my old Playbills sometime.
I have a MySpace account that I use only to view other's photos, but apparently I was invited to some sort of a group. Weird. I'm trying to open the link to the group, but per usual, MySpace is apparently having technical problems.

Oh, and Ashley, how can you resist a sweet sweet piece of manmeat such as this?
I think that's one of those photos that should be posted every so often, kind of like the Hair one and apparently, that Anthony one.

I always get invited to random myspace groups also.
What Anthony picture?

Katt, I'm talking about the one that they post over and over again in his thread. I think it's actually on the current page now, if you take a look. Heh.
It's so wonderful. I really want to see a staged production of Chess, although I can't imagine that that's the typical Arbiter costume.
I've never seen Les Miserables before, but I really hope that I get to this fall.

I have four shows that I love before all others: Les Mis, Cabaret, Chess and Sweeney Todd. I finally got to see the Les Mis tour on Sunday and it was wonderful. I didn't get to see Randal Keith as Jean Valjean, which was a disappointment after having heard so much about him. His understudy was fine; a bit stiff in the beginning but sang a beautiful Bring Him Home.
The tour was in Cincinnati, and I saw a poster up for a production of Chess. I really wish I could have gone to see it.
When did you see the tour? I wonder if you saw anyone famous nowadays- didn't Lea Salonga and Melissa Errico join before they made it to broadway?

Oh okay, I see what you're talking about. I don't check the Anthony thread much anymore.
I can't see your picture, Lexi. Weird.
I saw Les Mis right before it closed. I can't wait to see it again in the fall.
I know that Melissa Errico did do the tour first. I'm not sure about lea, but probably so.
nia, not to answer for someone else, but that's a picture of the Arbiter's costume in the Danish tour production of Chess. Which is just too amusing.

I actually didn't seen the tour, although I've seen quite a few touring productions when they stop in Minneapolis. I saw it on Broadway twice (a few years apart). My mom's side of the family lives in Manhattan, so we try to see a Broadway show every time we visit. Given my parents' taste, this causes me to miss a lot of the quirky, smaller-name musicals that I wish I could see. Convicing them to see even Cabaret was quite a task, although they ended up loving it.
I first saw Les Mis when I was about eight. I had no idea what was going on for most of the show, but I loved the songs and the scenery. A year or so later, my mom and I sat down with the synopsis and I understood it. Thankfully, I had the oppotunity to see it again.
Nia, it's the Danish Arbiter! He's kind of become an inside joke. Isn't he horrible? I think it's the cape and the pleather that really take the cake.
Ha. I know which picture you mean. I don't understand why I can't see it.
