Last night? Studying. Yesterday was what, Wednesday?
I hate not having classes; I get all disoriented!

So all those teachers who give practice questions are violating the rules?

I spoke to my mom. She didn't say why she wasn't answering her phone. She's being her pushy self, but not really playing mind games, for once.

I'm disoriented too. I haven't been through a full day of school all week and the trend will carry over to tomorrow and Monday.

I don't even remember what I wrote about for AP Lit. Maybe Macbeth? I got a 4 and my school only accepts credits if you get a 5, so it was kind of a waste.

I should go get dinner, but I'm too lazy to get up. And I have to pee. I'm trying to decide which order I should do things in. Until I decide, I'll just sit.

I don't remember what I wrote about, either. That's unsettling, for some reason. I feel like I should be able to remember something like that, but between all of the practice exams and papers, I just can't place it.

I feel like this week is just a never-ending blur of hours. I has to ask myself about five times today what day it was.

Why no school?

No, because the only way to get the multiple choice exams is to have them released by the AP board.

Here's a list of all of the free responses that are "released"

http://collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/prep_free.html

The 2006 English lanugage ones are one there.

I've never taken AP, but aren't there old tests and such in the review books?

OH. I remember now; the multiple choice part is the one they release every ten years, or something, right?

Yes. (to Mandi)

And Yes (to Em), they release after a couple of years or something.

My oddball schedule, since Emcee asked:

Monday: AP Lang/Comp test in the morning.
Tuesday: Went home sick.
Wednesday: Stayed home sick to study for the IB biology exam, which was announced two days ago.
Thursday: IB biology exam.
Friday: IB biology exam.

Monday: AP biology exam. Can we say "Overkill"? Oh, definitely.

I feel like some kind of dropout. I end up in two or three classes every day, take or study for a test and go home (not necessarily in that order). I mean, at the rate I'm going, I should just stop half-assing it and completely quit school.

Today I went to two classes, had a two hour break (I have no idea WHY that was scheduled), took an hour long test, had another break and hung out in art class for a bit, then took another two hour test. Wierd. Updated On: 5/4/06 at 06:37 PM

They don't tell you the exam schedule ahead of time?

Good luck on the ones remaining.

No, that would make sense. I was really ticked off. I thought the IB tests would be later than the AP ones, and my study schedule was set up to have me ready by Monday. Then I heard I needed to be ready four days earlier, and I thought I was going to start crying. I reviewed 25 chapters and all of my labs yesterday. Ack.

Mandi, why? IB?

Nia, what's generally considered more challenging? AP or IB? IB isn't offered at my school. In fact, many AP classes aren't offered at my school.

I should care more about the upcoming AP Bio exam, but I can't bring myself to do so.

I would think that IB is harder, just because of all of the extra stuff that's involved.

Nia...all that we've been doing are practice tests. I usually get them from the teachers and bring them home. And I didn't go to TOK today because our teacher was proctoring and exam, so...I just didn't go.

IB higher level is considered to be on the level of AP and Standard level courses are supposed to be equivocable to honors. I think they're challenging in different ways- IB tests are mostly or completely essay-based and test your ability to synthesize knowledge. AP has more multiple-choice, but it's a lot more detail-oriented. Like, for English, we have to discuss the themes and development of a novel's meaning, but AP english is based more around little details and naming different literary devices (to my understanding). It depends on how you think.

The thing that makes IB really hard is the 4,000 word research paper, the required 150 hours of volunteer work and the TOK class.

I'm sure you'll do fine on the AP bio test, you seem like the type who doesn't even need to study.

Emcee, out of curiousity, where did you go last night? You mentioned going out in an earlier post but didn't specify.

Nope. But my lamp is very bright. Maybe that's why. It happens sometimes, if I rub my eyes too hard. Which I did not.

Thanks for the explanation, nia. Based on that, it sounds like I'd probably do better on IB tests, but who knows? The research paper certainly doesn't sound like fun, although I did a lot of volunteer work throughout high school anyway. I won't lie -- most of it wasn't out of altruism, but for my college application. I guess even if the intentions weren't pure, the outcome was good.

Also, thanks for the compliment, but that's certainly not true in all cases, especially anything in the mathematical realm. a lifetime of Banality

My cousin is in IB and he's graduating in June. He's like a mutant- he's in IB, has 2 part-time jobs and still has time to party and get drunk on the weekends. He also played soccer and lacrosse every year until this one because of a severe groin injury. It's annoying that he's 3 years younger than me and still has the ability to make me feel inferior.

Banal: I got the last rice krispie treat in the dining hall. Which is annoying, because there's still another hour until dinner ends. Stupid people should make more of the good food and less of the crap.

skittles, I don't know how anyone could handle that kind of schedule. Your cousin must live on Red Bull or something.

Emcee, check your email.

nia, I answered your question -- did you not see? I'm confused as to why you keep asking. I posted last night that I had to go for a while, and when you asked the first time, I answered you -- I said I was studying. I have four finals next week.

I was out this afternoon, at an interview for an internship.

I love Rice Krispie treats.
