Stephen's cute. Then again, I have an annoying thing for obnoxiously conservative men, and Stephen presents that persona, even though it's completely satirical. Which just makes him all the cooler.

Exactly, siren! I found a transcript of his big speech at the White House on Saturday- have you read it? If not:

The best part:
So the White House has personnel changes. Then you write, "Oh, they're just
rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic." First of all, that is a terrible
metaphor. This administration is not sinking. This administration is soaring. If
anything, they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg!

I'm not familiar with Stephen Colbert, but I have to agree that political satirists (and satirists in general) have a certain charm. Like, Jon Stewart? Yes please!
I don't know him either, but that speech has really stirred things up. Some people seem to believe that he wasn't playing fair by actually (gasp) criticizing Bush instead of just joshing him along.
I did see that speech, nia. Amazing.
Jon Stwart is more my type in most respects, and I find him adorable, but... yeah, Stephen's whole faux-conservative thing is sort of irresistable. I am quite embarassed to admit that I had a crush on Tucker Carlson for a while, even though he's one of the most obnoxious people I can think of.
I can't really decide how I feel about Jon (John?) Stewart.
I saw someone on the subway who looked *really* familiar, but I couldn't place her (still can't) and it's driving me nuts. I hate when that happens!
I hate that feeling, too! It makes my brain hurt.
So, this all could be moot b/c who's to say I'll even get an internship...
But I was checking into things today, and my mom and I decided it's too unnecessarily costing to get housing in the city for the whole summer. But we want me to be on my own again without the pressure of school so I think if I do get an internship, I'll live in the city for like 4 weeks in July. Otherwise, I'll be a commuter.
Which is better than having to stay in my county all the time, and not having an internship I suppose, which is still a possibility.
I feel like I can place the time period, Elphie, but... no. *is irked*
rawr. Internships. That's all I have to say.
GAP was having a sale on tank tops today.
I'm sure it will come to you in a flash of inspiration.
How did your interviews go?
They went well. One of them was informal, because something got f*cked up on their end with my application, but they wanted to meet me anyway, for future reference if I decide it's ever something I want to do, so even though the dynamic was really great, it's kind of, at this point, for naught. The other was just preliminary, so it was short, but not awkward or anything bad.
That's good! I hope it works out.
Thanks.
"Fame is the impending, glittering disaster..."
I'm listening to Taboo. I love this song.
UGH. Time to go study ten more chapters of Bio. Shoot me.
But I don't want to shoot you. Good luck studying.
My finger is bleeding. gr.
You're right. Chinese water torture might be more appropriate.
How did that happen?
Okay, really going now....
No, I will not torture you, either.
Nail-biting.
Bio is probably torturing enough...
Em, what do you mean by preliminary?
I mean that they have a very simple set of questions they ask, just for a first meeting. Then, if you make it to the next stage, you have a more intense interview in the future.
There is papaya in my shrimp. I don't like it.
I told a girl at work that I'd push her on the swing until her dad came, since he's usually one of the first parents to come. Of course he was late today, so I was pushing her until almost a quarter to six. I felt bad stopping early because I was worried she would get upset if she realized how late it was and that her dad still wasn't there.
I just changed my clothes.
I put my pants on the correct way this time.
I really wanted to see United 93 tonight, but my friend's mom doesn't think it's "appropriate" and I already made plans with her so I can't see it with someone else tonight.

I love Jon a lot, too. (I highly recommend the Daily Show's America: Democracy Inaction. It's a hysterical satirization of a history textbook.)
I watch the Daily Show and Report reruns, and I love how they interact. Jon was so proud of Stephen's White House speech that it's really kind of cute.
My pants are on properly.
breathes sigh of happiness - this is what chat rooms should truly be like, not the endless "this is a message from the real idina menzel, no really, it is, i can't prove it in anyway but it is" type.
banal - three kids cried on me today. do i have "kleenex" written on my forehead?
jon stewart - yes.
