It was originally implemented, apparently, to be sure that in the event of an emergency, students could swim across the river to safety. (This was when the school was originally founded.)
Do you have to take your swimming test in the Hudson?
The pool.
I don't have to take it at all, actually.
I think you just have to take it again until you pass, but I'm not sure; I mean, what happens if you truly can't swim?
I feel something sticking in my wrist. It feels like my bone is jabbing into my muscle.
I'm falling asleep at the computer. I'm going to go to bed (super-banal.)
I was a Hanson girl too. I remember hearing about Taylor getting married--made me feel really old. Theirs was the first concert I ever went to and I loved it. I even had...Tulsa, Tokyo, and the middle of Nowhere...the home video. I don't care, I still think they made great music and had a great harmony!
And no other boy band compares to them IMO. That's pretty bad Siamese about Justin, though I understand. I was often left out for not liking any other boy bands but I couldn't change. I hated Larger than Life with a passion, so of course my friends constantly sang it to me.
Cornell requires you to take a swim test upon acceptance. If you fail, you have to take swimming there. The rationale there is all the bridges and lakes and suicide spots
I'm sitting in class and I should be working on some practice tests, but I'm not.
Everyone at Columbia has to pass a swim test to graduate...except the engineering students. The joke is that they'll just build a boat.
EEK....I think I need copious amounts of therapy.......I find myself drawn to Wicked threads that inform me of who will be in the London cast.........and frankly I don't even like the damn thing.......
I had a dream about one of my finals. You know you're going nuts when....
Someone just got taken out of my school in an ambulance after a fight.
I overslept. I set my alarm for PM instead of AM. Oops.
My throat is really dry.
I need to eat before my final. But I can't even think of food right now.
I'm afraid of yawning through the interview I have in a few hours. heh.

I remember on the news a while back some girl was pitching a fit over the swimming requirement at Columbia...because they genuinely wouldn't let her graduate. I laughed...I mean, is it considered tradition and that's why it stays?
In other news, yay for dead days!
Ugh, the journalism Dean is supposed to be letting me know about a possible internship for the summer and he is not on top of things. I've already e-mailed him twice, and he said they would be deciding this week. Well, the week is over and I haven't heard anything from him.
I can't find the back of my cell phone case.
ETA -- I found it.
I wanna go to back to bed and pretend this semester never happened.

The interview at Starbucks went well, although she said she had a couple more people to interview. I'll know if I got the job on Wednesday.

It really sucks trying to find a summer job at home (when you're at school three hours away)...

I think I'm developing a slight crush on Stephen Colbert. Is this gross/creepy/cute/wierd/a product of my increasing love for his brand of snark?
One final down, two more to go.
And Lexi, I think I'm changing it after Sunday.
