I don't even want to know what a Madagascar hissing cockroach looks like.

You really don't.

Apparently, many people keep them as pets. I'm finding so many "how to care for your cockroach" websites.

*shudders* I hate bugs.

OMG, they're gross! In October I went to stay with my sister for the weekend, and like she wants to be an entomologist, so she took me into the big room with all the bugs, and she was holding them! Gah! *shudder*

Last summer, my parents and I were talking somewhere and they said something about my grandpa surviving cancer. I was completely shocked and asked when. They were completely nonchalant about it and said "Oh, when you were little. You went to visit him." I was seven and I remembered going to visit my grandpa at the hospital because my parents said he was having an operation, but they neglected to mention for the next 13 years that he had cancer.

I'm considering setting up my family's old computer again (it's just sitting on the floor in my room) so that I can play a bunch of old games on it. I really miss playing those games, but they don't work on XP so I can't put them on my laptop or their new computer. But I don't know if I will be able to figure out how to set it up by myself and my parents will probably think it's a waste of time if I ask them for help.

Thanks, Undiscovered. I'm thinking of just listing a couple birds commonly found in rainforests and doing the old "and many more" trick.

We're also dissecting fetal piges in AP Bio. I know I've expressed my displeasure at dissecting anything in general on here before, but at least we filled out lab review packages and took tests on our prior dissections. This time, we're basically just cutting apart the pigs for the fun of it. How pointless!

aw, the fetal pig lab is so upsetting.

I got my touchpad mouse wet and it stopped working for a minute. It's better now, but I have a headache. Those are not related at all.

I didn't mind the fetal pig lab.

I just spent the last three hours trying to get our wireless router to work, including about an hour of phone tech support. And you know what? So incredibly worth it to be able to go anywhere with my laptop and have internet.

Wireless is one of those really nice little things in life.

I am so bored. And so lonely, pissed off and... well, if it's a negative emotion, you name it, I probably feel it. Sometimes I wish I could just pluck the emotion-controlling part of my brain out and stick it somewhere far, far away. Then I'd sort of be like a zombie, but maybe for the better.

Ashley, I went through the same thing. It took forever to get wireless, but it was so worth the wait.

My roommate let me keep her router for the summer. I'm so thankful for that. heh.

I almost fell asleep a couple of minutes ago. Then I brushed my teeth and now I'm awake.

I'm not sure what to do with myself for the next couple of days. I was so looking forward to having nothing to do, but I've become bored very quickly, and it's only my first night home.

Oh, nia, I just saw your post about Ethiopian food. I think that's an understandable first reaction. I actually really like Ethiopian, though.

I had Thai with my best friends today because we wanted to get together before they both go off and leave me here. :P

Wireless is heavenly.

I can't eat Thai food which is really sad, but what does Ethopian food consist of?

Do you have to avoid it due to your allergy, Em?

My paper is going nowhere, mainly because I keep allowing myself to get distracted. Oh well.

I've discovered my six degrees from Kevin Bacon. It was the highlight of my day...which says a lot about how lame my day has been.

Yeah, Thai food uses a LOT of peanuts.

I'm clinging to my pillow and stuffed animal like some sort of miserable five-year-old.

#4893

You're allergic to peanuts, too? Poor thing.

I'm sorry, Em. Try to get some sleep? Everything always seems a bit better in the morning.
#4894

random banality

Yeah, but just that and dairy; peanut allergies are easier to avoid, but much, much more dangerous.

I think I do need to sleep, but since it's Friday and South Park (my crack!) isn't on on the weekends, I think I'll stay up until it's over. Sleep will at least be calming, I hope.

Em, it reminds me quite a bit of Indian/Thai food with the spiciness, but it's more... hmm... well, it's hard to explain exactly, but it's very distinctive. There are usually small piles of different dishes (e.g. beef, chicken or lamb dishes, or pureed vegetables) that are served on a spongy pancake-like bread called injera. And you tear off the injera and use it to pick up the food rather than using silverware.

There's something comforting in the sweet cuddliness he exudes, yes? Like if you sat on his lap and snuggled him, for that moment, it would all be okay.

I found some unopened boxes of cookies when I was cleaning out my kitchen today. I didn't know I had them because they were up too high for me to see and/or reach.

For some reason, the South Park Christmas episode is on tonight, in May, but it's funny, so that's okay. random banality

What do you get for your best friend and her husband on their 6th anniversary? Any creative ideas? And I'm not made of money. random banality
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
