aww. I almost put that up the other day, actually.
You're welcome. I think nothing is too dull for banality?
Mel, act on it before it's gone!
Yep, NYU is big on housing the non-students. My being a student at NYU only meant that I got to apply for it earlier than non-students did - in fact, I'm paying the same rate that a non-student would because I'm not taking any summer courses. In addition to paying a higher rate if you're not taking courses, your choice of building (air-conditioned or not) and room (single bedroom or sharing a bedroom) affects the rate. I'm paying $285 a week to live in a single bedroom in an air-conditioned building, but living in a double or triple in a building without A/C is probably half that.
Ours is by the month, sort of -- the summer is broken into 'sessions,' but I think there's not enough room here for non-students anymore.

I ended Easter dinner with a Cuban cigar and a glass or port.
Today was like a mini-vacation to London.

285 a week? They better offer rooms at half that price, because God knows there's no way in hell I could do that...
Really shutting up now. I think I've been strangely talkative lately and I apologize.
Some internships cover (part of) housing costs, fyi.
ooh. dinner.
Ouch indeed.
My back hurts. As does my knee. I'm sitting funny. :-/

Dinner. Well, cocktail hour was Single Malt Scotch whiskym, and with pimento stuffed olives and whole almonds and sliced green apple available to nibble. This was followed by rosemary rack of lamb, rare, haricots verts with toasted sliced almonds and mashed potatoes. Dessert was a suglarless melange of blueberries, sliced strawberries, and sliced orange slices, with a dollop of fresh whipped cream with a hint of vanilla. Followed by fresh brewed filtered coffee and some chocolate Easter eggs. Then the port and cigars. With show music playing throughout the 4-fest. The company made it special.
The doubles and triples in the dorms without air conditioning are $140 a week, but you're also required to take a meal plan, which is another $90 to $100 per week, because those buildings don't have kitchens in the rooms.
fooood. I've barely eaten today.
I'm eating a chocolate brownie cupcake right now. Yum!
Today's my grandfather's birthday and I almost forgot to call him. :-/
My grandpa has Parkinson's and he was *really* bad today.
Thanks, Mel. It kind of scared me, because I hadn't seen him in a while, and his head was jerking around, and I wasn't prepared for it.
That must've been hard to watch. I know it's not the same situation, but last year after my grandpa had a stroke, half of his face was paralyzed and it made me so sad.
I was just in the elevator with the child actor Spencer Breslin - he lives in the building where I petsit. He looked very nice in his Easter suit.
Is that anything like a birthday suit, Rath?
Not at all.
I know I'll be awake for a few more hours yet, but I'm tired of working.
Same here, Em. I'm about halfway done with the first draft of my paper, but I have pretty much all week to work on it. I should probably do some studying for the test I have on Wednesday, but it covers so much material that I don't even know where to begin.
I'm on my conclusion and I. just. want. to. be. done. already.
I'm waiting for an e-mail that's going to answer a really important question I have and give me some advice I really need, because I might be f*cking something up very badly. bleh.
I'm so proud of myself..I got so much done in the last 4 hours.
My slut neighbor whose a year younger than me, has like 15 boys from my grade over her house and only two other girls. They're making a 'commotion' in the middle of the block, so trashy.
