This looks horrible!

...Anyone remember when Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro, and Sean Penn were in talks for this?
^
And I was rooting for Penn to wear his wig in Carlito's Way again.
When I read the revised casting I just assumed this would be a made for TV movie. Guess not.
Mother of mercy
Just watch their old classic shorts instead. At least Shemp still has his dignity.
"At least Shemp still has his dignity."
This is my new favorite sentence.

There was a good made-for TV movie about the real stooges, with Evan Pappas as Larry and Michael Chiklis as Curly.
Sean Hayes freaks and grosses me out in this trailer.
My question: WHY? (not Sean Hayes issue but trying to remake them?)
The 3 Stooges were of a time and place. Their films shorts are a wonderful testiment to their slap stick. Their brand of humor doesn't translate well as this clearly shows!
Wow, I didn't think anything could beat Jack and Jill for worst trailer of the year, but this is a photo finish.
I've never been a fan of the Three Stooges, but I had great respect for them as master comedians of their time. This looks like a bad idea that has been compounded by more bad ideas. And a colossal waste of money.

I hate the Three Stooges. Never funny. Never will be. The idea that someone spent millions of dollars to make this movie makes me cry.
I guess they have millions of fans & their shorts are still shown to this day proves they are not funny. They are comedy legends
They really are not my type of humour as well, and I can't sit through any of their films--but I also have respect for what they did and how beloved they were/are. It seems beyond cynical and weird to make a movie that essentially stars the Three Stooges as characters played by modern actors. like the concept just boggles the mind for me--it would be like hiring some current actress to play Mae West starring in a new movie--not a bio of her.
It reminds me of the live-action, modernized Rocky & Bullwinkle.... which I never want to think about ever again.
Or for that the modernized Little Rascals. That didn't work either.
There are some concepts that work because of the time they came out of.
Right and some concepts just can't be remade--when it's more about the actors and their personas especially--it's the difference between doing a movie about Charlie Chaplin and doing a new movie starring some actor playing his Little Tramp. This isn't like making another try at a movie of, I dunno, The Great Gatsby (as much as I think the new film from Bazz will be at least as flawed as Jack Clayton's).
Dan lied.
It doesn't get better.
But will the reviews be worse than Jack and Jill or New Year's Eve? It's a good year for the Razzies this year.
