First off, forgive me for this.
Second, has anyone here seen JASON TAKES MANHATTAN? Made in 1989.
Well, the film was terrible, but leaves me with this feeling of nostalgia.
The rock beat of the 80's and the way Times Square used to be...with people hanging out on the streets until all hours of the night.
I don't know why, but I just lover to watch the TIMES SQUARE scene of "Friday the 13th Part VIII" because, although I wasn't really around to experience it, I sort of miss that feeling.
Other movies, like the BREAKFAST CLUB with its rock soundtrack, and even my much beloved CARRIE. These things just take me back 100% everytime I watch or listen to them.
I don't really know how to describe the feeling - like I wish the world was still like that. The music. The culture. The clothes. Of course, NYC wouldn't be as safe as it is today. But that's besides the point.
I guess I want to know, from y'all, who were old enough to experience NYC (night) life in the late 80's, to share that experience...from the music, to seeing shows.
I'm in the modd for some good nostalgia.
P.S. I don't know why I only mentioned THE BREAKFAST CLUB, JASON, and CARRIE. I guess those things really take me back. Oh, and so do the Ninja Turtles (even though they are on the cusp of the turn of the times, so to speak).

The smallest stream is a valent river. It will drown me if it can.
