Anyone else love this book? I've loved it since the first time I read it.

I hope someday a good movie version is made. That would be an amazing movie if done correctly.

Thoughts?

I think we had this discussion a while back in a favorite books you read as a kid thread.

We read this book for class in 5th or 6th grade. I loved it. I haven't read it in many, many years.

Oh, really? I'll have to search for that thread then. re: The Westing Game

I’d not read The Westing Game in about twenty years, but last summer I picked it up at the library on a whim (there was a display of children’s books near the check-out) and was thrilled to find it lived up to my memory. My roommate at the time (who’s the same age as I) never read it back in school, but she picked it up when I was done and was completely enthralled. Great book.

YankeesFan, I’ve not seen it, but I think there actually was a movie version a few years back.

NCGuy, I searched on imdb a while back, and all that came up was a version of it called "Get A Clue" (not the Disney Original Movie) and everyone on there said it was pretty bad. A friend of mine told me the movie only had about 7 of the characters in it.

Changing the question a bit:

If you were making a movie version, who would you cast as the leads?

Oh wow. I haven't read The Westing Game for a couple years. Yeah. We read it in like, 3rd grade. Good book.

I loved this book- I remember we read it in like 4th/5th grade, and then we learned how to play the stock market after reading it.

fyi, I believe that the movie was originally actually called "The Westing Game" when it originally aired on Showtime, but then they changed it to "Get a Clue" for the video release of it? I could be wrong about that, though.

I've never even heard of this book, which is shocking. I need to check it out.
