"So in general, just don't be an idiot, and you won't get comments like that!"
Do you mind if I needlepoint that and put it on a pillow.?

"I am not ignorant. When I am typing something important, I use microsoft word and use spell check.
BWW is supposed to be fun; I'm not about to worry about my spelling/grammar when I have to do that so many hours of the day."
Sweet, I love ya, but you are SO wrong. It is typically American to say what you said, and have total disregard for our language. IT DOES MATTER. Communication and language (and opposable thumbs) are what separate us from the beasts.
And if you are going to make mistakes, then expect to be called on it.
If you do not respect your language, you can't respect anyone.

"It is typically American"
Uh oh!
(Although I can't say you're wrong...)

"And not for nothin', JAG, but you've got a double negative goin' in that sentence."
" think it's a triple negative."
But did you understand what I was attempting to say? That would be the more important question. My use of a triple negative, as Kringas so kindly pointed out, may not be grammatically correct English, but I would bet you got my point.

Occasional typos or misspellings happen to everyone. When it's obvious the person has little idea how to construct a sentence or is consistent with poor spelling, that gets to me. It does project a certain idea about that person (a wide range of which I'll not go into). And I think it shows a sense of self-pride to do it correctly. Occasionally I'm feeling too tired and lazy to look up something, but I do it anyway most of the time. (That doesn't apply to a dozen other things I should do.
)
I'll admit it, I'm a spelling snob. I was always extremely good at it from grade school on up.
Now complex math, like division, that's another story.

I totally understood what you were trying to say, JAG. At this point I'm just playin' around. I actually was debating with myself as to whether it was a double negative or a triple, which theoretically, might make it right. No?
That's the same illogical train of thought that makes me wonder if someone who has a limps with the left leg injures her right leg and limps on that leg, too, does it all even out and there is no limp at all?

Posted: 6/30/06 at 11:27pmHere's a question - I just used the word "collectable" in another thread. I've always been under the assumption that items were "collectable", but the items themselves were "collectibles". I thought the context was correct, but it just looks wrong. Any thoughts?

I think it's fantastic you took a stance Iflit.
Think there's any chance of a Prymate (sp?) revival?
