We don't have to go looking for reasons to not like U2, the giant machine that is the "band" and its retinue do it for us.

From New Musical Express:

[T]he guitarist was discussing Bono's recent cycling accident. When questioned as to why no photographic evidence of the incident existed, The Edge replied, "You know, when Bono goes cycling he likes to dress up as a Hasidic Jew."

To be honest, I never really liked U2. Sure, in the beginning I thought that Bono's charity work was sort of good and all that. But, I felt that he became pretty pretentious rather quickly.

And, I will never forgive them, or Apple for that matter by forcing me to have to have their new album on my Iphone without my choice. I can't tell you how confused and pissed I was when I had my music on shuffle, and all of a sudden there was a U2 song on there. Truth be told, I think that them giving out their new album to everyone for free isn't going to help them sell it.

You are to U2 what SongAndDanceMan is to Madonna and BroadwayBoy is to Lady Gaga.

Does the reasonable, objective fan no longer exist? Must all fans now be "fanatics" of a particular artist/band? I don't understand your obsession with trying to defend them against someone who clearly isn't going to convert.

I specifically chose only the part that was demonstrably untrue and didn't address what Namo posted at all.

Had I thought I was posting more than alerting people who might be interested in checking that surprise show out in Times Square the other day, I wouldn't have posted at all, heh.

I really liked U2 in the "I Will Follow Days." but Bono is the most pretentious person on the earth and I cannot stand them anymore.
