One of the most horrifying moments I ever had was going to a matinee of the film BEAUTY AND BEAST. I swear, it was like walking into the theatre shown in GREMLINS.

It just makes matters worse because we are three friends from school who bonded because we were native English speakers. We were the first people we really got to know in a new country. We all inherited our wives' friends and family, but we were each other's first friends here. Now it's all awkward. Oh well.


The last time I went to Florida with the family I used to work with, we had a seat kicker sitting behind the 15 year old with SEVERE autism that was with us. The kicker would not stop and it was causing our kid to have severe behaviors like biting his own hand and pinching me. I kindly asked his mom to try to get him to stop. She "tried" but blamed it on his ears bothering him. I had to switch seats with our boy, which put him in the middle seat, next to a stranger. I had to hold the kid's hands down for the rest of the flight to keep him stealing food from the guy on the aisle. Normally, we did everything we could to control the boy's situation. He was ALWAYS in a window seat and one of us was always in the middle. More often than not, we had all three seats, but there was not a whole aisle available this flight. Of course, the guy on the aisle wasn't willing to switch with one of the boy's parents. It was a bad kid flight for everyone involved. Have I mentioned that I am very happy to no longer be in that position?
