A real 'man's cake' has to look like it bleeds when you cut it - like this Armadillo Cake.
Although, I must admit, her concoction would get high points from the pigs I know.

"That looks disgusting yet sounds delicious."
I've felt that way about a few men.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 11:05amAfter this, there probably was no longer a bride. I'd be out of there.

A lightbulb went off in my mind. "I could TOTALLY do that," I exclaimed. "A meatloaf! With mashed potato frosting! OH MY GOD!"
"Yeah!" He was catching on. "And like, gravy between the layers and melted cheese for the writing!"
"Hmmmm. No, ketchup glaze," I decided.

EW! That's disgusting. Atleast the Armadillo cake was a real cake.

I don't think it's gross. As long as it's served hot, that could actually be very tasty.
And I'm even a woman.

Exactly!
Okay, it would be a little inappropriate for a wedding cake but the idea itself isn't that bad...

Posted: 7/30/06 at 6:22pmOr, you could just make a meatloaf.
#15re: The wedding cake for the groom who's a REAL MAN *grunt*
Posted: 7/30/06 at 6:25pmYeah, but this is different from a meatloaf. It has the gravy, mashed potatoes and cheese built right in. Definitely not for a wedding, but for a dinner? Good idea.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 6:34pmI don't get this groom's cake thing - isn't the wedding cake for the couple? It's not called "the bride's cake." So where, then, IS the bride's cake?

I hate to say this, but my older brother is getting married on September 3rd, and being the big "meat and potatoes" type of guy that he is...I sent him the link to this, and he'll probably like it. I don't think he'd want it at his wedding, but I bet he'd eat it.
Now I can't wait for him to e-mail me back to see what he says about it.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 10:11pmI thought this was quite cool. Not sure I'd really want it at my wedding, but it was an ingenious idea. And heck, if you eat mince pie, then you already eat desserts that contain meat.......

I like meat pies, but I dunno if I'd eat that.
And yeah, I'd just take the meatloaf. (I hate mealoaf!)
