I actually use the word in it's full form: "ridonkulous". Pretty fun to say.
Actually, I just picked up a new word from some friends at school. "Clutch". As in, "Karen got a new car? That's so clutch. Now we have a ride to the mall." It's probably been around forever, but it's new to me.

You know, Kringas, I'm hardly the one who should be singled out for using simple words of which I don't know the meaning.
Who singled you out? I just created a thread that apparently has struck a chord with several posters.

I hate when people describe themselves as random. If you think you're random, then you're probably not, because you obviously put some thought into that alleged randomness. That's not random, that's planned.

The misuse of the word is becoming an epidemic. While I mentioned its overuse when I started the thread, I was really thinking more about its misuse.
I wonder if anyone did have to look up "hackneyed." I really hope not. In my day, that was like a third grade spelling test word.

Who singled you out to look up the word? It was "like" a third grade spelling word, or was it actually a third grade spelling word? What school did you attend? In my years of teaching, hackneyed was never part of the third grade spelling curriculum. Talk about hackneyed words-LIKE has to be at the top of the list.
