After answering the door to a florist shop delivering a wonderful basket of tasty treats my eyes once again got misty with the realization that I have special people in my life. Then the white stretch limousine pulled up to the door and the tuxedoed driver rang the bell and said, "Your limo has arrived." "Arrived for what?" I asked quizzically and a tad apprehensively not knowing what to expect...
I just wanted to share that I'm truly blessed and touched to have so many wonderful friends in my life. Friends who never cease to surprise you. And I love each and every one of them.
I hope everyone here knows the joy of sharing their life with some wonderful giving, thoughtful, kind, nice and good people.

That's a lovely beginning of a story...
Are you going to leave us in the dark as far as the ending?

Yes.
A girl has got to have some mystery about her. Always leave them wanting more.
Thank god I'm a boy.
Sounds divine etoile!

"Are you going to leave us in the dark as far as the ending?
Yes."
My favorite part.
But the whole thing sounds wonderful - and, as we already know, is richly deserved.

I thought this was going to be a thread about prom!
I thought she was going to be run over!
What, exactly, is the point of this thread?

Wait a minute. Etoile's been a girl all along?? Or do you mean it like I mean it when I say "Girl, you gotta calm down" to one of my gay friends? NightOwl was definitely a gay man.
Etoile's not a "girl"; she's a gal. A game gal.
Congrats on the limo, doll! Whether it was hired for you or not, you earned it!
Why is it ALWAYS about YOU????
A HUGE congratulations!

"What, exactly, is the point of this thread?" Well, as I mentioned, that I hope everyone here knows the joy of sharing their life with some wonderful people that they can truly call a friend. Some get it, some don't have any concept of what I think constitutes an actual friendship.
"Etoile's been a girl all along??" Sorry, Namo, but as Osgood Fielding stated, "Well, nobody's perfect."
"Why is it ALWAYS about YOU????" I know, Sueleen. About once every six months I decide to start a thread, this one was even about me, well really about an act of kindness shown to me. I really should learn to post less. I'm such a freaking attention whore.
What have you done with the real etoile?
I understood your post to be a gift to your BWW friends. You did not need to share this with us but you did. You knew that for whatever reason we are a family and there are many of us who would be touched by your words. I just came back from a three hour walk and my mind kept coming back to your thread and the simple gift that it is.
I know why you posted this.

I think I know what constitutes an actual friendship, but sending flowers and a car might not be one of the more important requisites.
It's lovely that your friends did that for you, though! I wouldn't mind it~
I don't know who it was wrote or by who's pen it was signed. Someone once said and I quote it:
A friend is someone who's seen you at your worst but thinks of you at your best.
Something like that.

That's a good one, Chita.
I think a real friend is one who is always your friend. Good or bad times, they are there.
