At my school today. Some-one e-mailed our newspaper, And then the newspaper contacted out school. We were in the middle of TAKS testing and had to evacuate the building. We may end up having to retake the TAKS now.

1) That sucks.
2) Love your sig.
3) To everyone else: TAKS is Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. Standardized state-wide testing. It sucks, yeah. The exit-level test is for Juniors though, so being a Senior, I didn't go to school! Yay!
There was a bomb threat at a near-by community college here. Turns out the police over-reacted to a message board post and aren't going to press any charges.
you should be so lucky as to get to miss TAKS! we still have one more day! BRAWWWP!
I know it is tomorrow too. But we may have to do it again. Since everyone could have cheated when we were outside. I hate TAKS it is a waste of time and effort.
it is. and these aren't even my exit levels! i have one more year of TAKS! bullocks.
oh yeah, and apparently they weren't letting more than one kid in a restroom at a time
I KNOW IT IS STUPID. We should make an anti-taks thread. Our seniors had movie day today. While I had to spend 4 hours taking a test that takes 30 min.
There are bomb threats EVERYWHERE these days.
There was a bunch of weird threats in my neck of the wood too. Crazy people shouldn't be allowed to watch the news.
they're planning on getting rid of TAKS the year after I graduate! can you believe the nerve!?!
at an all boys school in my city, someone wrote a hit list of the people he's going to shoot tomorrow on the wall of a bathroom stall. talk about a bit freaky.
What? Oh that is rediculous.
yeah, i know. a lot of those kids aren't going to school tomorrow. or something.
I wouldn't. Do they know who wrote it?
nope. they have no clue.
you mean someone DOESN'T want to kill you?
ahem. i guess i should make my insensitive jokes in light of recent events, huh?
Someone had a pipebomb in their locker at my highschool during my freshmen year.
There was also a bomb threat at the high school near mine today as well.

We get at least 3 a week at my university. They take it lightly because every single one of them has been a hoax. Besides, who wants to be evacuated from their class every waking hour when your paying $1000 AUD per subject?
I know, right? We were all shocked that I dodged that list.

same thing happened at the high school near my house the day after someone tried to shoot up the school in february... they got caught beacuse they made a youtube video about it before the planned to do it. which made sence, because we all know teachers and school employees do not know who to use the internet or own computers *rolls eyes*
the next day someone brought a loaded pellet gun.
schools are ****in crazy.
There were bomb threats at several schools yesterday in my hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, as well. Many students were pulled out of class.
I still blame the U.S. media for this. It's unconscionable. They are stupidly giving a voice and face to current and now potential "postals," only to attract more viewers and get people to tune into their next broadcast. And it's actually encouraging other potential "postals" to do the same thing so they'll be "famous" and "heard" as well.
Do yourselves a favor. Turn off the U.S. news. Boycott it until they stop the circus. They will only respond to ratings, and as long as their numbers go up when they "report" something like this, there will be no change in how they "celebrate" these tragedies.

Shortly after the Columbine shooting, a message was written on the stall of a girls' bathroom at my high school-- "Bobms at 3:00." Of course, we were all cleared out of the school that afternoon. But it became a running joke between my friends and I that hopefully someone who knew how to build a bomb would know how to spell it.
i'm soooo not tipping the media this week. well, not 20% anyway.

There was a bomb scare at my school this year. A note was found in the stairwell. My entire school (2 grades, 1400 kids) had buses bring us across the street to a grades 4-6 school. We sat there for 2 hours on a full bus. Also, it was during some lunch periods so some parts of the school went into the school we were at to eat. We weren't allowed back into the building so they got us on our buses and sent us home. No homework! The kid was caught and I heard he was sent to juvie.
I had another one last year. It was 2nd to last period and they evacuated the school. We stood in the parking lot for a bomb threat written on a bathroom toilet stall. I was stuck with the worst class too!
In 6th grade, there was another bomb scare in the girl's bathroom. We had a meeting and the k9 unit came in like the other 2 I mentioned.
