Posted: 8/23/06 at 2:09amLove Swanson. I wish that peoples faces were sculpted like they were then. Strange how human faces and appearances change as the ages go on.

Posted: 8/23/06 at 2:13amI don't think the faces have changed so much as the make-up and hairstyles.

I guess, a lot of the females faces' just seem so soft with light hues and without any rough features. It was just the look they all had that is so changed now and that kind of sucks, it must have been amazing back then.

I love fabulous, gorgeous Gloria!
Thanks Mr.Midwest!
One of these days I'll re-read SWANSON ON SWANSON.

You're not going to tell me? Fine. I don't care, anyway. Do you want to see how much I don't care?
*turns away*
See. See. I couldn't care less.
*turns back*
Please! Please, tell me! I'm begging you!

Do a search "Dinah Come Home" on the Off Topic Board and you'll see a pic of her.

Posted: 8/23/06 at 8:22amI think faces just looked better in all that black and white, especially with all the dark 20's and 30's makeup.

"Come on, babe, why don't we paint the town..."
Miss Louise Brooks!
...and here's more...
"Life is a Cabaret, old chum..."
What a face... and what a LOOK!
EDIT: Thanks, Ncguy! I was duped by a faux-Louise! I replaced the second image with the real Miss Brooks.
Here's another for good measure...

Posted: 8/23/06 at 4:34pmWhat was Elaine Stritch's comment about Gloria Swanson? She was talking about the two men that were with her and she said something like "One was cooking up her food and one was cooking up her memoirs?"

Posted: 8/23/06 at 5:03pmBest12bars, love the Louise Brooks photos (especially that top one), but is that actually Brooks in the second pic or someone else posing in homage to the Richee/Brooks photos?
