Now how the hell do I start a pledge drive like that...

How about starting a facebook event? Share with all us and your friends - we'll share it w/ others. And on and on.

Post the address of the church so we can make sure they get cards saying "A donation has been made in your name..."

And since it's Elizabeth Taylor's funeral I suggest donating to her foundation.

I'm not so sure about using their name for the donation. Frankly I seem them coming after us for using their name against their will and I just don't want to get into that. I want it to be in one lump sum so that we can tell the WBC exactly how much money they helped raise for the charity, but then what is the best way for folks across the country (and world) to donate via the internet to the fund?

Legally they can't do anything. There's no law against making a donation in someone's name. And realistically I can't see them going after each individual person.

I tried to start a fund on kickstarter, just to raise money for amfAR for her funeral, but they only support creative endeavors. There has to be another website out there that people can donate to causes. I have the idea and the work ethic, I just don't have the know how at this point.

i don't know the specific details about this site, but look at www.crowdrise.com. You basically create personal pages to raise money for a cause. Again, not sure if this would be the right platform, but check it out.

I really hope that more people than ever show up to counter-protest. They are usually hilarious but not at funerals, so people who can make it can definitely do it in a respectful way. Maybe tons of posters with all her famous roles and the like. Anything to draw attention to her greatness and away from the psycho devils.

As uncageg pointed out, the funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at Forest Lawn Cemetary. No protesters, just @ three dozen guests. Her final wish was to delay the funeral by 15 minutes so that it could be said of her "She was late to her own funeral." Gotta love it!

I'm sure that was part of it, but she had converted to Judaism before her marriage to Eddie Fisher. I believe sevices have to be held within a certain timeframe.

There will still be a public ceremony at some point, and that's when they will show up.

Ms. Taylor was buried according to Jewish tradition and that is why the funeral happend so fast.
