"Yes, Stockard. She needs to get off of that how many days it took Obama to respond train. She never fails to turn a subject around to that lately. They could be talking about Miley going commando and she woud say "It took Obama 50 days to respond to Miley not wearing panties and that's why we are in this mess". I wonder what Barbra is thinking or if she is calling in to the studio."
no kidding uncageg. i also love it when she gets blasted with questions like " you didn't seem to mind when Palin said drill baby drill" or even going back "Elisabeth, what about when McCain left his ailing wife to marry Cindy" or " hmmm...you didn't go after Rudy Giuliani over his many indescretions"
her problem is she won't shut up and listen or even pretend to. i think one thing she did that she should have been fired for was while campaigning on the trail said something smarmy to the crowd about Michele Obama. something like..."Cindy is unlike one particular woman who could be first lady who we interviewed who we had a huge check list of things we could and could not ask" it was disgusting.
Joy hits the nail on the head all the time with regard to the differences of Katrina and the Gulf. they are not comparable. but...one thing is, the previous administration started the problem, like others. sure he had 18 months to possibly fix the problem, but what eff up do you start with when left with the mess he was laboured with. and i agree with who spoke of the BP payout he got quick smart. also, he visited every victims family. of course, republicans say that was just a photo up. arrrrrrghhhh, they ar so up themselves it is beyond a joke. if McCain was president, it wouldn't be fixed yet either.

I think this is what Elisabeth all angry about.
"Somehow, Elizabeth Hasselbeck has snowed American audiences into not knowing that she is a ****ing Survivor reject. I am sorry; I am going to listen to the political beliefs of someone who wore wacky scarves on Survivor?"
"But this notion that everyone has to be quiet and listen to Hasselbeck is out of control. It’s always amusing to hear her lose her points when you watch her on YouTube.com."
But what's untrue about those statements? :P

Piper, when Joy hits her with the comparison, that's when Elisabeth pulls out the 50 day thing because she has no other comeback.
I just wonder if Barbara will talk about what happened while she was gone when she returns or if she will let it blow over. She must know that Kathy Griffin is going to crucify Elisabeth the first chance she gets.
Just an aside, I like Kathy Griffin but she was very annoying on Larry King when her mother came to the desk.

^if Elisabeth's comparisons where remotely comparable or argueable it would be fine (well no really, because her attitude is slap inducing) . i have only ever seen it once.
once, she tried to use an analogy of eating a peanut butter sandwich to a serious issue.
I agree about Kathy. I adore her, but sometimes her schtick about one subject gets old. she did the same thing when talking about Bill O and her mom on Joy Behar. change the record Kath.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck calls Kathy Griffin 'scum'

This morning on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck called Kathy Griffin “scum” for joking on her Bravo show My Life On The D-List last week that Sen. Scott Brown “has two daughters that are prostitutes.” “You defend your daughters against scum who come after them,” said Hasselbeck. Whoopi Goldberg followed that up by saying that “if somebody talked about my daughter as a joke like that, I would beat their ass.”
“Are you calling Kathy ‘scum’ now?” Joy Behar asked Hasselbeck.
“In general, if someone called your daughter a prostitute would you think they’d be scum?” countered Hasselbeck. “I’d call them [sic] scum.”
“I know my daughter’s not a prostitute, so it [would be] funny,” said Behar. “It’s just a joke, Elisabeth.”
Hasselbeck commanded Griffin to “get in line, and cut it out.”

Posted: 7/19/10 at 10:16pmMay just be me but I think the profession of prostitution is much more respectable than milking a rejection from American Idol and using your father's status to get a job on CBS with modeling on the side.

Huh? What dies American Idol have to do with anything? What am I missing here? Elisabeth wasn't on American Idol. She was on Survivor.

Ayla Brown, Senator Brown's eldest daughter, was the American Idol reject. The idea of Elisabeth singing is a fun image. The other daughter is in modeling but Ayla piggy-backed both her Idol run and her dad being a US Senator to getting a job at CBS, even interviewing her own father:

I also think Kathy was lampooning her ignorance as not just a Washington outsider but also as somebody from Hollywood.

It's obvious that Kathy was referring to Sen. Brown saying his daughters were available. His gaffe is his claim to fame (aside from his centerfold photos). Realistically, how else would Kathy or most of America know about him if not for this. It was also obviously meant as a joke because as soon as Kathy said that, the whole screen was filled with a disclaimer saying his daughters were not really prostitutes. Why didn't The View show that part?
People are always so quick to make fun of others but can't take it when they are the ones being made fun of. At least Kathy can take back what she dishes out.

Wildcard, I forgot to include that statement he made.
Stockard, I thought one of his daughters was on AI.

Not always. I think it was the first season of D List when she went on Leno and he made some crack about her not being attractive or pretty or something and she fell apart in the limo ride after the interview.

^ well she is human, and i suspect she does have self esteem issues to be honest. seriously, she did have somewhat of a traumatic childhood with enabling parents of a pedophile brother and i think he tried to molest her..irish catholic cover up i how she put it. comics are different off the stage. not all...but Steve Martin for one suffers from depression and is very moody. He apparenlty isn't "one wild and craaaaaaaaazy guy" at all.
anyway, about the latest Elisabeth rant. Of course she was happy to call her scum or her act scumly with Kathy not there to answer for herself. pretty tough, eh? Kathy still would have made mincemeat out of her if she was there personally. I don't think Elisabeth would get comedy if it was shoved up her ass. I get the controversy, but come on these are women...not kids and it was clearly a joke. we know they are not prostitutes which is what makes it funny.
i still can't get the thought of elisabeth and bill geddy looking over stuff before the show and him helping her and giving her fuel for the fire. (from rosie o'donnel radio show) he loves her.

Kathy responds:
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b191221_kathy_griffin_hasselbeck_lighten_up.html
"Now I have to send Elisabeth Hasselbeck two muffin baskets because she confronted me when I was a guest on the show two weeks ago and then this morning she called me 'scum,'" Griffin told us last night at the VH1 Do Something Awards in Hollywood. "I have to send two baskets because as a comedian, I'm loving it."
Griffin made the crack about the politico's offspring while filming a D-List segment in Washington, DC with CNN reporters John King and Dana Bash.
"You have to remember that the genesis of that whole joke about Scott Brown was that when he won the election he famously said, 'My two daughters are available,'" Griffin explained. "Then he was called a 'pimp' in the Washington press…The bottom line is, lighten up!"
