I just hope it doesn't happen until TITANIC 3D comes out. I really want to see them fly off the boat at me.

I'm going to miss him, after he goes.

End times (end of times? I never know which is correct) theory, dogma or whatever always fascinates me. As tormented as I was by my Catholic upbringing (the relentless and unyielding torrent of rules!) I think I probably would have cracked up if I spent my youth worrying about judgement day. I never even heard of the Rapture till I was in ninth grade, when one of these prophecies was getting media attention. That was also the first time I heard Anita Baker's "Caught up in the Rapture" which I think was about sex, not God.

There is no scriptural basis for the theory of The Rapture. And we know how against theories the religious nutbags are.

Wasnt the rapture to begin with earthquakes at 6:00 pm for every time zone? Its way past 6 pm on Fiji...and nothing. Who wants to take bets on how long it takes for Camping to jump out a window OR run away with all the money he made on this crap

I think he may have a bunker somewhere and will go into hiding. His followers will say "Look the good Lord took him!"
For me I am off to celebrate my anniversary with my honey and some dear friends.

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

"There is no scriptural basis for the theory of The Rapture."

While you're sitting around waiting for Michael Musto to ask you out, why don't you try reading a few scriptures. And try reading a real Bible and not the Gene Robinson edit version.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

In the original Greek?

Notice how he can't actually point to any scripture for you to read.

It's 49 minutes past 6 here and we're still rolling along. I haven't felt any rumblings.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Good.

I'm going to Disneyland to ride the new Little Mermaid attraction!

I hope the folks with those huge strollers and electric carts get taken, along with their vehicles.

Is Goth clapping wildly and repeating, "I do believe, I do believe, I do believe, I DO!!!"? There is no scriptural basis for the theory of The Rapture. None.

(I had to Google Gene Robinson to even realize Goth was making a gay reference! He must be trying to get in his homophobia requirements to insure his being whisked through space to heaven at 6pm. Probably like a merit badge.)

I hope it doesn't until after "Smash" the TV series as well as Part 1 and Part 2 of "The Hobbit." Right now "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" is likely to happen.

No, they always have an eel-like rationale to explain how what hasn't happened fits in perfectly to what they predicted would definitely happened. In our culture of "at least it got people talking about it," ANYTHING can be deemed a success by those who fail at something.

Right, Goth?

Apparently, the nonevent generally strengthens the believers' faith. And often they redouble their efforts at proselytizing and the movement actually grows.

I'm still here. But, oddly I heard thunder right before 6, and then it started pouring rain, and still is.

I rapted.

Per the Book of Revelations. Ah, read it and weep, o ye of little faith.

I decided to come back down, as while it was glorious I wasn't ready to leave my nice big juicy hamburger behind.

I'll do the next rapt.

Yep, still livin' in Post-Rapture America (PRA).

I'm certain the faulty calculus will be attributed to a rounding error or some other human frailty.

When will they ever learn that Sky-Father keeps his "ish" close to the vest? I recently heard a rumor that there's some rumblings upstairs because Sky-Mother's no longer putting out. Now, that friends is indeed likely to trigger all sorts of calamities.

Did anyone have a good rapture playlist? Mine was an eclectic mix of Godspell, Book of Mormon and Evil Dead: The Musical. But I made sure the last song I listened to before 6pm was Take Me To Heaven from Sister Act.
