I have very foggy recollections of Family. Wasn't the brother Willie Aames who went on to Eight is Enough and then Charles in Charge? I always confuse Family with Our House. That was such a vomitous show! I couldn't stand Wilford Brimley and he still gives me the heebie-jeebies. There was nothing special about that show.

I did like Shirley, though. Now THAT was a short-lived show. I don't even know if it survived a full season.

I believe the show was called BLANSKIE'S BEAUTIES and starred Nancy Walker...poor Nancy, and this was before the whole CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC debacle.

Kristy McNichol ROCKED!! I am genuinely sorry that she quit the biz. I recently caught a repeat of LITTLE DARLINGS (basically a "very special episode" expanded into a feature lenghth also starring Matt Dillon--totally doable even in his teens--and a wan, bug-eyed child named Cynthia Nixon). Kristy was a DAMN good actress!

And wasn't Scott Baio on Blansky's Beauties? Or was that Clark Brandon..or both...and yes, Kristy was a damn fine actress.

Speaking of Ken Berry, remember the spinoff of the Brady Bunch where he and his wife adopted the three kids? I think one was black, one Asian, and one blonde? Kids, I could do this ALL DAY. Don't get me started...

Good god. I could do this all day, too. And we haven't even ventured into the world of Saturday Morning tv! LAND OF THE LOST. "Wesley" playing the son. Always with his shirt unbuttoned. Chaka loved it...and him.

Oops. You're totally right, Borstal. It was WE GOT IT MADE. I will contend, however, that the show would have lasted at least another season had it been spelled M-A-I-D.

Oh Madeline was Madeline Kahn's show, wasn't it? It lasted about as long as Good and Evil (the first time I ever heard the word "bitch" uttered on television).

I loved Land of the Lost and Sigmund! I still sing the Land of the Lost theme song (including the scream down the waterfall). Those Sleestacks were CREEPY. Except the good one. You could tell who was good because he spoke English and wore a vest. He would lead them to the colorful crystals that would show agonizingly enticing visions of their mother. If you look closely, you could see where the walls met the ceiling in the "jungle".

I loved Hello Larry when I was a kid! Joanna Gleason rocked on that show as well. I don't remember the adopted kids being a spinoff of the Brady Bunch. I believe it was an actual Brady Bunch episode that just got completely sidetracked because the show was losing steam fast once all the kids hit puberty.

Actually, everyone's a little bit right.

That particular episode of THE BRADY BUNCH was made in order to create a spin off featuring Ken Berry and his kids of many colors, but the spin off never materialized. Kinda like that weird episode of the Golden Girls featuring Paul Dooley and Rita Moreno. Eventually, they had a successful GG spinoff in Empty Nest featuring Kristy MacNik...love how I bring it full circle?

As for LAND OF THE LOST, finding out that Chaka was a girl ****ed me up in a BIG WAY!
