It's not for newbies. It's for the board members who actually know each other and discuss things among themselves.

“I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>>

Fantod, don't feel too bad. I've been posting here for years and I have no idea what that thread is about.
Nonetheless, my life remains busy and interesting.

Why don't you just look at the thread for a day or so and say hello, rather than post a hissy fit?

PJ, are you talking to the OP or to me?
I don't feel excluded and I wasn't pitching a fit. There are plenty of other threads here. I was merely trying to reassure Fantod that nobody is plotting against him personally.

It's the off-topic thread of the off-topic board. Just some friends who like to chat regularly about life.

If all 'chapters' of that thread were preserved (which they are not), it would best represent the history of the OT board on BWW, for the last 10+ years.
It's a conversation thread.
Nobody is excluded. Including newbies. All are - and always have been - welcome.
Most people who post there are friends in 'real life', and many are regulars.
No secrets. Obviously, as it's visible for all to see and read, if they care to.
It began as a wonderful trip down memory lane for a group of people posting here who were of a similar age, but since then has morphed into a simple conversation thread.
There used to be many conversation threads. As there used to be 'love' threads dedicated to individual posters - most of whom no longer frequent this playground.
No mystery.
Other than the sudden interest in the thread by members who have just joined.
Hope that helps.

I think "Thread title removed" is my favorite thread title.
Ever.

I'm not quite sure why you're attacking me, as I am trying to be as nice as possible, but I changed the thread title because a lot of posters started responding sarcastically so I figured I wasn't supposed to ask, and changed the title to avoid more sarcastic responses.

Sheesh.
You see sarcasm where sarcasm is not.
I liked the thread title better the other way.
It was "meta."

Oh, sorry! Thought you were being super sarcastic like a lot of other posters on this thread.

What is your problem with me? I had a question and couldn't find an answer for it, so I started a thread; I'm pretty sure that's standard procedure here on this Broadwayworld from what I can tell.

Fantod, you haven't committed a capital crime and nobody is trying to be unkind to you.
Try to think of a message board as a big room full of partiers.
You enter and find everyone engaged in conversation with others.
You don't start asking everyone what he is talking about and whether you can interrupt; you don't demand that inside references be interpreted on your behalf. You simply stand there, sipping your beer, until you overhear a conversation to which you have something to contribute.
And then you try to gently insert yourself into the conversation.
This is all that's being suggested here. The rest is just gentle ribbing.
