...guess it's a good thing I went tonight, given the bar selection tomorrow. re: Thursday, June 29: Pre and Post Madonna Concert Fun!

Just wanted to give everyone a tip: They turn off the AC in the Garden, so it is an absolute SAUNA. Be sure to wear light, loose clothing.

Seriously, go as light as possible... and bring a change of clothes for going out after.

I just got home and had to wring myself out.

Enjoy.

Amazing show!

Yeah it was a great show but the heat got a little unbearable at times. If Madonna is going to insist the AC be turned off maybe she should start touring in the winter.

The show didn't start until 9:15. An announcement was made around 8:45 that said due to "building codes" the show could not be "executed in it's entirety" and some screens would not be visible for the entire show, "Madonna apologizes for the imperfection." Well...I couldn't tell what they were talking about and wouldn't have known anything was wrong if they hadn't made an announcement. I imagine Madonna was backstage giving people hell though and that's why the show started so late.

They turn off the AC? In this heat? That's more than a little ridiculous, I don't care who requests it, Madonna or the Queen of England.

From what I've heard, there were last minute changes the people at MSG made them make. Now I don't know who's fault that is...but apparently she threatened to cancel the show.

But like I said, if the announcement had not been made no one would have never known anything was wrong. I still can't figure out what it was that was not "fully executed".

And even in spite of the heat it was a great show. The New York reviews have pretty much been raves...even The Post.

Oh...and just to add...I thought the roof was going to blow off the Garden when she sung I Love New York.

It WAS disorganized.

Which was surprising, given the fact that Madonna is a veteran performer and MSG knows how to stage concerts.

And, yes, the AC off was extremely uncomfortable.

But, she put on a great show.
