I thought your mother was in the hospital?
Cam - it has been a bit crazy - still no resolution on the friend in trouble, HK is in flux now, and I got called about a job in NoCal that I may now follow-up on.
I just adjusted my exemptions so I don't owe Uncle Sam quite so much money next year.
I guess the good side of that is I have enough set aside to pay what I owe in one lump sum, and that I have made enough to owe a decent chunk of chage. Actual the state of California is far worse than Uncle Sam - I owe Cali almost twice what I owe the Feds.
How goes it with you?
Tiff and Middy - How you both be?
Well that's good and bad news.. I really hate taxes..
Where at in NorCal?
insanely busy. and starting to worry. i have a midterm tomorrow and i know NOTHING about it.
Pleasanton - a US sub of a French Software company looking for a general counsel for the US operation. It is a bit above where I am now, but a much smaller operation, so who knows. I sent a resume in off a blind add a few weeks ago and they called me on Monday to see if I was still interested in talking to them. Had the HK thing been set, I would have said no. But, I left a message today that I would be happy to talk to them.
Nothing will probably pan out, but at least it is nice to know that the resume got noticed.
Mid, what is the exam on?
She's back...medicated, but back. <33
umm... phonetic transcription and sh!t like that.
Pleasanton you say?? That's not too far from me..
Well, I also sent a resume to the evil empire itself - the big Msoft.
We will see what happens.
And Marlene, see, I actually do read what you post.
Middy - is that for medical transcription services? I have some friends who did that on a side business. Lots of codes to remember. Worse than law school in some ways!

Gotta do what ya gotta do...
Awwww...*tear*
Goodnite you all, I'm tired. *yawn*
Later beyoootches.
Tiff, when you get this, have a great tomorrow (or tonight, if you get this tonight).
no it's for my englsh major.
Phonetic transription - for some reason my head processed that as medical transcription.
Clearly, I am under too my pressure lately!
What the heck is phoeetic transcription?
a pain in my a$$ that's what.
Jeeze, that is an understatement:
Phonetic Transcription
For students who have mastered the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) phonetic transcriptions can help improve their understanding of the importance of connected speech when speaking English. Dictionaries give single word phonetic transcriptions which can greatly improve students pronunciation skills. However, when speaking to native speakers, students are often surprised at how the phonetic transcriptions seem to not always match pronunciation used in connected speech. This is in great part due to the fact that English is a time stressed language, as opposed to a syllabic language (See "Stress and Intonation: Key to Understanding"). This manner of speaking greatly influences, and sometimes even changes, the pronunciation of single words. The following lesson provides students with an opportunity to examine how connected speech can change pronunciation.
Aim: Greater understanding of influence of connected speech on pronunciation through the use of phonetic transcription. Gaining experience in the use of the IPA to transcribe speech.
Give me law anytime, or economics, or Mandarin Chinese for that matter!
"I'm sure moving closer to FidoRock won't be a bad influence on you what so ever! "
You think the Nun becoming the Stripper was bad, you wait until he gets one zip code away...
we'll never sleep again... but at least I can now keep him from ever coming close to driving with a nip in his belly...
he says earlier (publicly to many, or I wouldn't share:
"Ok, just have to share because I am so excited, and some of you know what a freak I’ve been for the past few days… just got the call – I found (and got) a great apt on the Hill. Open studio… HUGE on the top floor of an old house. Granted, I can’t have anything large in there because the stairs are narrow, but whatever… tons of windows, views of the Cascades, Mt. Rainer, and if you twist your neck ‘just so’ you can see Mt. Baker."
He'll be within a km of me .. whoo hooo!
Oh great, just what Seattle needs.. You two living closer together..
Excellent news! The studio sounds perfect! Hopefully those stairs won't be too much of an issue - now that Fido will be even more present in DD's life, we can expect more action coming up and down and coming "in" the stairwell!
damn it tiff ... you made me get all rumbly with that
Fido is one dirty boy!
G'morning, BTW, Bitches and Your Hagness!
Marlene, an independent film? Pfft. No. I don't do indies. I like money, you know. This one's a mainstream horror pic with a relatively low budget ($15m) by the same people who brought you the Final Destination trilogy. I swiped the revised script and I'm hoping to finish it tonight - I've barely started but from what I've seen, it has a lot of potential if it's shot and acted right, and if the score hits just the right notes (so to speak). Granted, I'm only on page 6, which is still exposition, so what do I know.
I'm starting to think I made a mistake brushing off Geoff and I think I actually hurt his feelings last night when I sort of ran the hell outta there. To be fair, it was after he was going on about getting a booty call that night with two ladies he was dying to get to but I think he was saying it to make me jealous. Despite his past and his player-esque ramblings, he's always given me preferential treatment on set, complimented me and hasn't fed me lines that I've received before. I'm wondering if I've made a mistake and it makes me sad.
I haven't been hung up over a guy since the MF days.
Did I mention he says he cooks really well, and his specialty is Japanese?
SOMMS, yet another reason to come out to the Pacific North West soon! The three of us are excellent company.
Wow you really are torn up about this guy.. I dont know what to make of it. You definately have some thinking to do..
Well, I'm the wrong person to give romantic advice because I am the one who believes in giving it a chance. Not necessarily jumping in with both feet, but at least sit on the edge and dip your feet in the water.
I wouldn't have so many reservations about going on one date with the guy if not for the fact that he's my superior and fairly prominent in the industry. I rely on him to call me for work and recommend me to other Locations Managers - if we go on one date, or even several dates, but it doesn't work out and we end it on awkward or bad terms, that's my job and ass on the line now.
Does that change the scenario a lot?
