DayDreamer, when my sister and brother-in-law first began dating, his chronic lateness drove her up the wall (still does, though he's a lot better now). He told her he couldn't help it...he was on "Cuban time" and that his entire family and everyone he grew up with was like that. When she met his family, they were exactly the same! I had never heard the expression before but have heard it said many times since then (in an affectionate way) by Cuban Americans. A colleague of mine (who is in at 7:00 am sharp each morning) has said his family is the same way, but that he "runs by clock time, not Cuban time!"

I run on Cubism Time.

My clock is all broken up into angular pieces and you really can't tell what time it is.

In all seriousness I'm like Tazzy. I'm chronically on-time or early to everything. Something I picked up doing summer stock. You were either early, on time, or fired. Those were the only options. And I've been conditioned that way ever since.

I turned out to be a cross between mom and dad. Dad is very punctual; mom is always late, an hour late sort of thing. I tend to be either 10 minutes late or really early, especially if I'm going to the movies, theater, and to the airport.

I'm always late to family gatherings. That's definitely intentional.

I am never late. If it turns out I'm going to be at least 15 minutes late to class, I won't go...my teachers usually lock the door 5 minutes after it starts anyway.
