This would be great. Tina lives in NYC and could probably squeeze it in her schedule. Lorne Michaels should just give her a blank check and let her do it. Of course, if Tina is unavailable, Julie Brown would make a great second choice.
Saturday Night Live creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels said the show is talking with Tina Fey about playing Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin at some point this season, possibly as soon as this Saturday's season premiere.

"There are discussions [with Tina]," Michaels said during a conference call with reporters. "They are ongoing."
Rumors have been swirling that Fey will portray Palin, at least for the season premiere, following an interview with 24-year-old SNL scribe Simon Rich in New York magazine. Fans online have posted pictures of Fey next to Palin, pointing out similarities.
Michaels isn't hedging all of his bets on Fey, however. He said current cast member Casey Wilson has read for the part of Palin.

At least for 2 months the openings should be funny with their takes on Palin, Mc Cain & Obama. I wonder who will play Biden? My guess is Hammond who can play almost anyone.

Posted: 9/11/08 at 7:58pmThey had John Goodman make countless appearences to Play Linda Tripp. Who says they won't do the same for Tina Fey?

Know what's eerie? Four years ago, Tina Fey appeared with John McCain on the cover of LIFE's newspaper supplement edition. It was in anticipation of the 2004 election.

"That is eerie!"
I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually considered as part of the 'decision process', to bring in the current 'hip young awareness'.

Posted: 9/11/08 at 11:13pmI would LOVE for this to happen, but I honestly think that if they want to do Palin sketches on a semi-weekly basis, Kristen Wiig is a shoo-in, and a much better fit than Casey Wilson.
