As soon as I am eligible, I am planning to try out for The Glee Project. However, since I've never been in this sort of audition situation before, I don't know what to sing.
Should I sing a song that shows my range or one that I can act well or both?
Also, should it be a show tune or not or does genre really matter?

I know you're probably joking as well but I was only being funny.
I really, truly need some answers here

I'm pretty sure they give you a list of songs to choose from.

I think they do for the audition that actually determines if you get on but there's a preliminary one to cull the field and that's the one I'm inquiring about

I know there was a list for last year's preliminary audition- I actually didn't go because I didn't really know any song on the list, which I didn't see unil the day before the audition...

Who are you? A power ballad diva? A heartfelt gay kid? An insecure farm boy? They need to know who you are so they can consider how they'd work you into the show. Choose something that lets them know who you are, not just how you sound.
I made a video for last year's auditions and there was a set list of songs they wanted you to sing that included "Before He Cheats", "Edge of Glory, and "Out Here on My Own" among others. I wasn't able to attend the actual auditions, but the video process required you to answer questions being asked of you by one of the Glee casting people via video.
The questions ranged from the basic ["Who would you want to play on Glee.."] to the personal ["..Talk about a hardship in your life you've had to overcome.."]. I plan on trying to attend the actual audition this coming year, as well as make a video, because apparently it's good to do both.

Okay, so I'll plan to do both. There's only one question I have. When do you find out the set list?
