RE: hands on the wheel.
Used to be 10 & 2 until docs saw a rash of forearm injuries caused by airbags. Then the suggested driving position was changed to 9 & 3.
#79Cell phones and cars
Posted: 1/24/07 at 3:29pmSeveral years ago when I was living in Arlington, I was driving on the Beltway, 495, going north. I passed a volvo station wagon, and as I passed I noticed the driver had his window open, one hand on the wheel and one hand to his ear with a phone. So I go several miles, the volvo passes me; after a couple of miles I have to pass him again. This time, I noticed as I passed that the driver still had the window open, but this time with both hands up against both ears -- one holding the phone the other trying to block out the noise! I got away from that idiot as fast as I could.
