Posted: 1/24/07 at 11:45amI love how during our recent snow on Sunday that I saw people talking on their phones while driving. Don't you think you need both hands when driving in snow people!! What call is that friggin important that you have to put everyone in jeopardy.

very funny story which I hope is true.
A business man engages in a very long, prolonged conversation regarding his business trip - he's on the train to the airport during the conversation - very loud and very disruptive to everyone around him
After he leaves the train, one passenger says to another "Since he disclosed his name, the name of his hotel, his car rental agency, and the restaurant where he's taking a client tonight - I called ahead and cancelled all of his reservations."

Ha-ha, that's good!! I hope it was true, too!
And to think they're considering cellphone use on planes. I can see the air-rage now!
I also hope the judge throws out that lawsuit.

I can text and walk and I can talk on the phone and walk but I always try to be considerate when I'm somewhere people might not want to hear me carry on a loud conversation.
Of course, I courted disaster once when I was on the phone while waiting in line at a deli and the man in front of me turned around menacingly and said, "I like to break people's phones when they talk on them indoors." So I, who had been speaking extremely quietly, began to talk louder. I won that battle as the jerk just left the line. Still, I wouldn't normally have done anything like that.

"Now I have a sign in my car I hold up to people as I pass them. It reads, "You are breaking the law by talking on that phone, moron." "
Jeez Diva, just tape it to the window! You don't want to use your hand to hold it up- both hands on the steering wheel! What is it? 9 and 3?
Do people even say to put your hands on the "9 and 3" position on the steering wheel anymore?

Posted: 1/24/07 at 1:00pmI thought it was 10 & 2, but in NJ's drivers training classes they really should just teach you how to drive with your knee, while holding your hand up with a protruding finger and the other hand on the sterio knob

Yea but Tink...what hand is going to hold the cell phone?
Edit: 90% of the people who have their drivers licenses in S. Florida should just walk! I would love to know how in G/d's name they got their license.
What is even worse, over 50% of people in S. Florida DO NOT have car insurance.

Oh in NJ, they just put the phone on speaker, place it on their lap while shouting into it. That way they can accomplish everything at once. Not to mention when they hold their cigarette and Dunkin Donuts cup.

I've totaled two cars in my life, and my only scars are the ones left by the airbag slicing my arm open -- so I guess I shouldn't have been doing the 10 and 2 thing.
However, I'm pretty sure my scars would be a lot worse without the airbags.
