In tonight's Christmas episode, it seemed as though Will's brother was played by Steve Webber. I thought that in earlier episodes Will's brother was played by an older man. Is my mind fading?

Will's brother was originally played by a very sexy grey haired actor whose name is John Slattery and who also played the politician who wanted to be peed on in Sex And The City.
And John is 2 years younger than Steven.

That's right! I wonder why the part was re-cast?

John Slattery certainly LOOKS older than Steve Webber

actually as soon as you made the "older man" comment, I decided to find out because to me Webber looks his age and Slattery looks younger.

I guess it's the gray hair that makes Slattery seem older to me.

I am trying to find out the age of another sexy grey haired actor, John Dossett...but his birthdate is nowhere to be found! Help.

John Slattery also happens to be married to Talia Balsam, daughter of Martin Balsam and Joyce VanPatten, and ex-wife of George Clooney.

Mmmmmmm. John Slattery. How I love. So gorgeous. I always thought he looked a little like Greg Jbara?

Don't forget that Will has TWO brothers. The one who Grace slept with that Will had the falling out with, (Sam) and the other who is married to the skinny shrew who looks a lot like Grace (Paul). The latter was featured in the two part Thanksgiving episode where Will, Grace, Jack and Karen spend time together and with the their families while waiting for the kitchen timer to ding. Neither of them were previously played by Weber however.
actually both john slattery and steven weber played will's brother, sam truman. considering the last time slattery played him it was in 1999, i'm sure he had other things on his plate or the part was simply re-cast after six years....

I don't watch this show often, but laugh when I do. We watched it tonight and it was dull, dull, dull. Maybe a couple of chuckles on the jokes for the neighbor guy (Jack?).

I enjoyed the Rent joke he said about the long drive/525,600 minutes.

"tonite was the first time weber played the role."
I thought that was the entire point of this thread so when you said both actors had played the role of Sam I was confused. Sorry.

That joke was cute.
The child was less than cute. OK, I'll say it. Obnoxious.
I do not understand why the redhead attracts any appeal. Boring actress. Nothing exciting about her. The guy some of you identified as Steve Weber is also dull.
Debra Messing is my favorite on the show

yeah. robbo confused me too. His remark sounded like both actors had played Will's brother, Sam, on prior episodes to the one airing tonight.
Anyone figure out Dossett's birthday(year)?

I love Jack. I also loved that little boy that was on tonight.

That was my nephew. I'm totally not joking. I talked to him today and he was so excited. Unfortunately, I missed watching it because of stupid tech week
